Abstract

1,061,533. Spray carburetters. SOC. DU CARBURATEUR ZENITH. May 25, 1964 [June 7, 1963], No.21529/64. Heading F1B. Fuel flow to a nozzle 35 in a by-pass passage 22 is controlled conjointly with the air intake valve 23 by a suction operated device 36. The diaphragm 40, operated by suction in the Venturi 20, operates through rod 45 Fig. 2 (not shown) the spindle 24 of valve 23, which spindle carries a lever (48), Fig. 4 (not shown), controlling the fuel metering rod (27). At speeds lower than idling, i. e. starting speeds, the by-pass 22 is closed by a suction operated piston 52 to increase the suction or nozzle 35. Response of the diaphragm 40 to increasing suction in chamber 20 is delayed by a restriction 26 which may be formed in a flap valve 28 which opens where pressure increases in chamber 20 to render restrictor 26 inoperative. Movement of the throttle valve 21 to wide open portion causes opening of the valve 23 through linkage (82), (83), (47a), for deflooding purposes. A starting carburetter delivers through a passage 65, Fig.6.
