Abstract
On prépare une S-carboxyméthyl-L-cystéine de haute pureté par réaction de la L-cystine dans l'ammoniac liquéfié avec du sodium métallique, conduisant au sel disodique de la L-cystéine, évaporation de l'ammoniac, réaction du sel disodique de L-cystéine avec une solution aqueuse d'acide chloracétique et précipitation de la S-carboxyméthyl-L-cystéine formée par acidification. La réaction du sel disodique de L-cystéine avec la solution aqueuse d'acide chloracétique est effectuée en présence de 0,1 à 10 % en poids, par rapport à l'acide chloracétique, d'un agent réducteur. La S-carboxyméthyl-L-cystéine est un médicament mucolytique connu.
