SE HACE REACCIONAR M-CRESOL EN UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO CON HIDROXIDO POTASICO PARA OBTENER LA SAL, QUE SE SOMETE A REACCION A 80-200 GC CON UN HALURO DE FENILO SUSTITUIDO PARA OBTENER UN 3-(FENOXI-SUSTITUIDO)-TOLUENO. SE OXIDA POR CUALQUIER METODO CONVENCIONAL Y EL ACIDO-3-(FENOXI-SUSTITUIDO)-BENZOICO PRODUCIDO SE NITRA A 0-70 GC CON UN AGENTE DE NITRACION ADECUADO. EL ACIDO OBTENIDO SE PUEDE PURIFICAR POR CRISTALIZACION. EL ACIDO TAMBIEN SE PUEDE TRATAR CON UNA DISOLUCION ACUOSA DE HIDROXIDO SODICO Y AJUSTAR EL PH A 7-9, CON LO QUE SE OBTIENE UN CONCENTRADO DE LA SAL.
