Abstract
Un procedimiento para mejorar las características de resistencia-tenacidad de una aleación metálica austenítica seleccionada del grupo que consta de aleaciones de acero inoxidable de las series AISI 200 y 300, y aleaciones de acero no inoxidable que contienen hierro, manganeso, cromo y carbono, teniendo dicha aleación una temperatura Md no superior a alrededor de 1001C y una temperatura Ms no superior a alrededor de menos 1001C, que comprende las operaciones siguientes: (a) deformar la aleación a una deformación de al menos alrededor del 10 por ciento y a una temperatura en el intervalo de alrededor de Md menos 50ºC a alrededor de Md más 50ºC, siendo dicha temperatura Md la de la aleación que experimenta la deformación, de tal modo que el material tenga una fase de martensita en no más de alrededor de 10 por ciento en volumen y una fase de sustenita en al menos alrededor de 90 por ciento en volumen, y (b) deformar el material producido en la operación (a) a una deformación de al menos alrededor de 10 por ciento y a una temperatura no superior a alrededor de menos 75ºC, de tal modo que el material tenga una fase de martensita en al menos alrededor de 50 por ciento en volumen, y una fase de sustenita en al menos alrededor de 10 por ciento en volumen.
