SEGUN LA INVENCION, EL PROCEDIMIENTO LLEVA UNA ETAPA DE REFUERZO POR INTERCAMBIO DE IONES SUPERFICIALES Y UNA ETAPA POSTERIOR DE DESALCALINIZACION SUPERFICIAL DEL SUSTRATO.
