Abstract
Se refiere a prepolímeros reticulables que se pueden obtener mediante: (a) copolimerizar cuando menos un monomero hidrofílico que tiene un doble enlace etilénicamente insaturado, y cuando menos un reticulante que comprende dos o más dobles enlaces etilénicamente insaturados, en la presencia de un agente de transferencia de cadena que tiene un grupo funcional; y (b) hacer reaccionar uno o más grupos funcionales del copolímero resultante con un compuesto orgánico que tiene un grupo etilénicamente insaturado. Los prepolímeros reticulables son especialmente utiles para la fabricacion de artículos moldeados biomédicos, por ejemplo artículos moldeados oftálmicos, tales como en particular lentes de contacto.
