Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a boat comprising a flexible bottom and bordered radially towards the outside by a wall which comprises an inflatable and collapsible front wall, an inflatable and collapsible side wall, and a rear wall.
  • Such boats have the advantage, compared to a boat of the same size with a rigid or semi-rigid hull as disclosed by the document EP2593353A , to be significantly lighter, and to take up little space when not in use.
  • the front and side walls are inflatable and foldable, each forming a ring of circular section filled with air, and the floor is deformable so that the entire boat can be deflated and folded, with the possible exception of the rear wall.
  • the rear wall is generally a panel made of a material (for example wood) more rigid than the material of the flanges of the front and side walls because the rear wall is intended to support the engine of the boat.
  • Such a boat is called an “inflatable boat”.
  • lower / "upper” are defined with respect to the vertical axis, which is perpendicular to the bottom of the boat which extends in a horizontal plane in normal use of the boat.
  • the bottom of the boat is made of a foldable canvas whose side edges are fixed to the underside of the socks (and to the rear wall) in such a way that these socks form the front and side walls of the boat.
  • the flanges of the front and side walls having a cylindrical shape of circular section, the radially inner half of the flanges is necessarily located above the floor of the boat.
  • the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
  • the invention aims to provide an inflatable boat whose interior space is maximized, the functional and operational properties of the boat remaining the same as those of an inflatable boat according to the prior art.
  • At least a part of at least one of the side wall and of the front wall is constituted by a first inflatable element shaped as a plate having two flat parallel faces, a second inflatable element whose section is D-shaped with a flat portion, and a flexible assembly device, the second element being located radially towards the outside of the boat with respect to the first element, the assembly device maintaining the flat portion of the second element in contact with one of the faces of the first element.
  • the space available for the passengers of the boat is optimized.
  • the stability of the boat is not compromised, however, because the walls have a substantially circular outer shape, the boat retaining the same dimensions as a similar boat of the prior art.
  • the boat also retains its fully inflatable (with the possible exception of the rear wall) and foldable character.
  • the assembly device is chosen from among a hooking system, a flexible sheath at least partially surrounding the first element and the second element, and a combination of the two.
  • the first element is located outside the second element.
  • the second element extends below the bottom of the boat.
  • the first element is located within the second element.
  • the wall when only part of the side wall and of the front wall comprises the first element and the second element, the wall also comprises a progressive transition which connects this part with the rest of the wall.
  • the entire side wall includes the first element and the second element, and the transition connects the side wall and the front wall.
  • the whole of the side wall and of the front wall comprises the first element and the second element.
  • the front wall, the second element, and if necessary the transition delimit a single volume, capable of being inflated from a single point.
  • the boat can be unfolded and inflated in its position of use more quickly.
  • the bottom comprises a canvas on which a removable rigid floor can be placed.
  • the removable nature of the floor allows the boat to retain its inflatable and foldable character, while offering more rigid support to the passengers.
  • FIG. 1 illustrates a boat according to the invention.
  • the boat comprises a flexible bottom 10, and a wall 20 which borders the bottom 10 radially outward.
  • flexible element we mean an element of which one of the three dimensions is sufficiently small compared to the other two, and of which the rigidity of the material constituting it is sufficiently low, to be foldable with the hands.
  • inflatable element is meant an element consisting of a flexible envelope delimiting a volume and having a closable orifice allowing the element to be inflated by injecting air into this volume.
  • the bottom 10 is for example made of a flexible fabric 11.
  • this bottom 10 is capable of receiving a removable floor 12, placed on this canvas 11, and which covers the entire surface of the bottom 10.
  • the addition of the floor 12 makes it possible to stiffen the bottom 10.
  • the floor 12 is for example an inflatable plate (similar to the element 30 described below).
  • the floor 12 is thus made solely of a flexible material, which allows it to be folded.
  • the floor 12 is a rigid plate, either in one piece, or made up of boards hinged into them.
  • the bottom 10 further comprises a keel 13, rigid or inflatable.
  • the stability of the boat is thus improved.
  • the keel 13 consists of a set of inflatable or rigid boards.
  • the keel 13 consists of an inflatable tube of circular section which is placed between the canvas 11 and the floor 12, which makes it possible to stretch the canvas 11 to give it the shape of a V-shaped hull.
  • FIG. 6 shows in perspective a longitudinal portion of such a bottom 10 of the boat with a rigid floor 12 and a keel 13, and their positions relative to the side walls 22 (port wall 22b and starboard wall 22t) shown in dotted lines, and described below below.
  • the wall 20 comprises an inflatable front wall 21 and an inflatable side wall 22.
  • the front wall 21 consists of the part of the wall 20 which forms the bow of the boat.
  • the side wall 22 consists of the part of the wall 20 which forms the side edges of the boat.
  • the side wall 22 consists of a port wall 22b and a starboard wall 22t, which extend substantially parallel to each other from the front wall 21 to the rear of the boat. (up to the rear wall 23).
  • These two side walls (22b port and 22t starboard) being symmetrical with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the boat, the description below of the port wall 22b also applies to the starboard wall 22t.
  • the periphery of the bottom 10 of the boat consisting of the edges of the bottom 10, is fixed to the front wall 21, to the side wall 22, and to the rear wall 23. This fixing takes place at the level of the lower part of these walls, as seen in the figures.
  • Side wall 22 is also attached to rear wall 23.
  • the front wall 21 is formed of a bead of circular cylindrical section.
  • the periphery of the bottom 10 is fixed to the lower end of the vertical diameter of this bead.
  • the port side wall 22b comprises a first inflatable element 30 shaped as a plate having two flat parallel faces, these parallel faces being an internal flat face 31 and an external flat face 32.
  • the first element 30 is shaped as a plate thanks to flexible connections (wires or fibers or tapes) which connect the internal face 31 and the external face 32 in such a way that the distance between these faces is substantially constant over the entire surface of the first element. 30.
  • These links 33 are fixed (for example by gluing or sewing) to the internal face 31 and to the external face 32. These links 33 are visible on the picture 3 .
  • the port side wall 22b further comprises a second inflatable element 40 whose section is D-shaped and which is located radially outward relative to the first element 30.
  • the flat portion 41 of the second element 40 is the rectilinear part of the "D", and is in contact (direct, or indirect by the attachment system 70, see below) with the outer face 32 of the first element 30.
  • the first element 30 is thus located outside the second element 40.
  • This contact between the first element 30 and the second element 40 is made exclusively by a flexible assembly device, which allows the wall 20 to retain its flexible and bendable character (with the possible exception of the rear wall 23).
  • this contact is made by attaching the flat portion 41 of the second element 40 to the outer face 32 of the first element 30, using an attachment system (for example consisting of an adhesive and/or a lacing, and / or a Velcro) 70 which therefore constitutes the assembly device.
  • an attachment system for example consisting of an adhesive and/or a lacing, and / or a Velcro
  • this contact is made using a flexible sheath 60 in which the first element 30 and the second element 40 are housed. and the second element 40 in its D-shape.
  • the sheath 60 which is fixed to the second element 40 by the attachment system 70, forms a tubular cell in which the first element 30 can be inserted (slid) from such that the sheath 60 completely surrounds the first element 30, with the exception of its ends.
  • This embodiment has the advantage that the first element 30 can be removed from the sheath 60 for repair and then introduced again into the sheath 60 to be assembled with the second element 40 via the sheath 60.
  • the sheath 60 forms another tubular cell shaped to receive the second element 40 without a hooking system 70 of the sheath 60 on the second element 40 being necessary.
  • the flexible sheath 60 and/or the attachment system 70 constitute the device for assembling the first element 30 with the second element 40.
  • the sheath 60 consists of a lower portion 61 which covers the lower edges of the first element 30 and of the second element 40, and of an upper portion 62 which covers the upper edges of the first element 30 and of the second element 40.
  • the lower portion 61 is fixed by the attachment system 70 which here is an adhesive both on the lower part of the first element 30 and the lower part of the second element 40, and the upper portion 62 is glued by the adhesive 70 to both the upper part of the first element 30 and the upper part of the second element 40 so that after inflation of the first element 30 and of the second element 40 , the flat portion 41 of the second element 40 is in contact with the outer face 32 of the first element 30.
  • the lower portion 61 and the upper portion 62 are separate. Alternatively they come together covering the curved face of the D of the port side wall 22b, that is to say the radially outer face of this wall.
  • the flat portion 41 is glued with the external face 32 by the adhesive 70, which contributes to the solidity of the port side wall 22b and to keeping the flat portion 41 as flat as possible.
  • the periphery of the bottom 10 is fixed to the lower end of the port side wall 22b, for example to the lower end of the first element 30, or to the lower portion 61 of the sheath 60 in the case where this sheath 60 is present.
  • the wall 20 comprises a progressive transition 25 (visible on the figure 1 ) which connects the side wall 22 and the front wall 21, this transition 25 consisting of a port transition 25b which connects the port wall 22b and the front wall 21, and of a starboard transition 25t which connects the starboard wall 22t and the front wall 21.
  • the port transition 25b (and by symmetry the starboard transition 25t) consists of a cylinder with a transverse section (that is to say in a plane transverse to the direction of the flange of the wall 20) evolving from a circular section at the location of the junction of the port transition 25b with the front wall 21, to a D section at the location of the junction of the port transition 25b with the second element 40.
  • This evolution in the shape of the port side wall 25b is done gradually, which avoids stress concentrations in the wall 20, and contributes to the solidity of the boat.
  • the wall 20 further comprises the transition 25.
  • the front wall 21, the transition 25, and the second element 40 delimit a single volume, capable of being inflated from a single point. Thus, the inflation of the boat is more convenient.
  • the wall 20 of the boat is compartmentalized into several disjoint and separately inflatable sections, for example at the level of the junctions between the front wall 21, the transition 25, and the second element 40. This prevents the entire boat from deflating. is pierced by accident in one place.
  • the first element 30 constitutes a separate volume from the second element 40, which is inflated separately from the latter.
  • the volume of the first element 30 communicates with the volume of the second element 40 using a pressure relief valve.
  • the front wall 21, the side wall 22, and where applicable the transition 25 delimit a single volume, able to be inflated from a single point.
  • the inflation pressure of the first element 30 is higher than the inflation pressure of the second element 40, for example 4 to 5 times higher.
  • the inflation pressure of the second element 40 is of the order of 200 to 250 mbar (millibars), and the inflation pressure of the first element 30 is of the order of 1000 mbar.
  • the transition 25 is between the front wall 21 and the side wall 22.
  • the transition 25 is located at a given location along the front wall 21.
  • the transition 25 is located at a given location along the side wall 22.
  • FIG. 2 illustrates another embodiment of a boat according to the invention.
  • the whole of the side wall 22 and the front wall 21 comprises the first element 30 and the second element 40. Thus, there is no transition 25 in the wall 20, which is formed only of the first element 30 and the second element 40.
  • This embodiment has the advantage that the dimensions of the cabin of the boat are maximized.
  • FIG 4 illustrates another embodiment of the wall of a boat according to the invention, which applies equally to the embodiment of the boat of the figure 1 and some figure 2 .
  • the first element 30 is located in the second element 40.
  • the planar portion 41 of the second element 40 is then in contact with the internal face 31 of the first element 30.
  • the periphery of the bottom 10 is attached to the lower end of the port side wall 22b.
  • FIG 5 illustrates yet another embodiment of the wall of a boat according to the invention, which is a variant of the embodiment of the picture 3 , and which applies equally to the embodiment of the boat of the figure 1 and some figure 2 .
  • the difference between these two embodiments is that the first element 30 extends vertically downwards below the bottom 10 of the boat.
  • the periphery of the bottom 10 is fixed to the lower end of the second element 40 of the port side wall 22b.
  • the second element 40 on the port side and on the starboard side of the boat is a flange of cross-section in D.
  • the second element 40 consists of a set of flanges 44, for example of circular cross-section, and of different widths (or diameters) so that this assembly occupies a D-shaped volume.
  • the flanges of this assembly are held in contact at their lines of contact directly by a fastening means (for example by gluing with an adhesive or by lacing, or sewing, or by Velcro), and/or indirectly by a sheath 60.
  • these flanges 44 are of smaller width at the top and bottom of the D, and of greater width in the middle of the D.
  • this assembly consists of a circular tube 441 of greater diameter surrounded by two tubes 442 of smaller diameter, one above and one below, this assembly of tubes being held in contact by a sheath 60 which surrounds the assembly of these sausages over their entire length.
  • the first element 30 and the second element 40 constitute a part of at least one of the side wall 22 and of the wall front 21.
  • the first element 30 and the second element 40 constitute either a part (or the whole) of the side wall 22, or a part (or the whole) of the front wall 21, or a part (or the whole ) of the side wall 22 and the front wall 21.
