Definitions

  • the invention relates to a latch needle, in particular for knitting machines, having the features of the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • Tongue pins are used for various types of knitting machines.
  • a latch needle has a needle body with one end thereon trained hook on.
  • a tongue slot is formed, in which a tongue is pivotally mounted.
  • the tongue can rest with its free end, the so-called tongue spoon, on the tip of the hook and thus close the thread space. From this closed position, the tongue can swing in reserve, in which it releases the thread space.
  • Some machines require that the tongues fall into reserve during their knitting operation due to their own weight. If this is not the case, there is a risk that the tongues may cause parts of the machine, e.g. touch the yarn guide apron and bend it.
  • Tongue play Another problem arises with enlarged Tongue play, when the tongue bearing is formed by pins pushed out of the slot sidewalls, as known from US-PS 1,991,140.
  • the tongue provided with a bearing opening is inserted into the tongue slot, after which parts of the slot wall are pushed inward or punched with two pressure punches (engravers) in such a way that they enter the bearing opening of the tongue and form a journal for the tongue ,
  • the tongue forms, in particular with its area surrounding the bearing opening, an abutment for the pressing or stamping process. If the tongue is significantly narrower than the tongue slot, the slot side walls are bent inwards in the punching process, whereby the latch needle can not be produced in the desired quality.
  • DE-A-586 678 discloses a latch needle with a tongue slot open at the back, in which a tongue is pivotally mounted.
  • the tongue slot is bounded by straight slot flanks which diverge away from one another towards the needle back.
  • the slot width substantially corresponds to the thickness of the tongue.
  • DE-C-4402706 discloses a latch needle with tongue slot open at the back, in which a tongue is pivotally mounted.
  • the tongue has a lateral collar which comprises a journal formed on the needle body and which centers the tongue in the tongue slot.
  • the width of the tongue is less than the width of the tongue slot, so between the tongue and the slot flanks is a distance.
  • the latch needle according to the invention has inter alia a tongue slot which is bounded by two side walls, the inner sides of which face each other.
  • the inner sides are each subdivided into at least two surface regions, one of which is located in the immediate vicinity of the bearing device and thus forms a bearing surface.
  • this surface area surrounds the bearing device.
  • This surface area serves to guide the side of the tongue and thus limits their lateral bearing clearance.
  • the other surface area is spaced from the bearing means and defines a comparatively larger slot width.
  • the side wall is set back in this area so to speak, so that between the tongue shaft and the side wall of the tongue slot creates a free space. This promotes the ease of the tongue.
  • the resulting space between the tongue shaft and the side wall can accommodate fiber filaments, without the ease of movement of the tongue is substantially reduced. In particular, the clamping of the tongue can be prevented.
  • the latch needle according to the invention combines an improved guidance of the tongue with a reduced frictional resistance the same.
  • the measure according to the invention is not limited to only one side wall, but is applied to both side walls.
  • the result is a latch needle, which is symmetrical with respect to a median plane on which the pivot axis of the tongue is vertical. In this latch needle, the frictional resistance of the tongue is reduced on both sides thereof.
  • the tongue slot has a smaller width at at least one point in the vicinity of the bearing device than at at least one other point at a greater distance from the latter.
  • the transition between the corresponding surface areas of the inside of the side wall may be formed as an edge, as a rounding or as a step.
  • the edge between the two surface areas may be designed as a sharp or rounded edge.
  • the surface areas may be flat or curved. In particular, the surface area arranged remotely from the bearing device can be curved.
  • the other surface areas are preferably arranged at the slot mouth.
  • the area of the wall in question may be set back and take such a shape that on both sides of the tongue shaft on the relevant side wall, a projection is formed, which acts like a washer arranged on the pin. These projections center and guide the tongue centrally in the tongue slot.
  • the bearing device of the latch needle is preferably a continuous or a split pin.
  • the latter can be generated by pressing parts of the side wall in a forming process in a tongue opening. Because of the small tongue clearance in the region of the bearing device, the tongue acts as an abutment for the side walls, so that they are not deformed during the pressing process.
  • the lateral tongue clearance in the region of the bearing device is preferably only a few hundredths of a millimeter, for example about 0.02 millimeters or less.
  • the tongue clearance in the area of the extended tongue slot (other surface areas) is preferably significantly larger, for example greater than 0.03 millimeters. This creates a sufficient slot or clearance between the side surfaces of the tongue and the insides of the sidewalls. This gap or slot may have a uniform thickness or be wedge-shaped.
  • the extended tongue slot area also extends further to the back of the tongue.
  • the tongue 5 has a tongue shaft 11 which projects with one end 12 into the tongue slot 6.
  • the end 12 is, as is apparent in particular from Figure 2, provided with a tongue opening 14 which serves to support the tongue 5.
  • the tongue 5 has a tongue spoon 16, the haken side has a recess 17 (Zasche).
  • the present embodiment is thus a tongue-etched needle.
  • a zipper can be provided in the hook 3 or its hook tip 4, into which a correspondingly tapered section of the tongue 5 fits. In the closed position (FIG. 2), the tongue 5 closes the hook interior 19.
  • the half-pegs 18a, 18b are, as illustrated in FIG. 3, formed by wall parts of the side walls 7, 8, which have been pressed out of them and into the tongue opening 17 in a pushing or punching process.
  • the tongue 5 has two side surfaces 21, 22 which, for example, may be flat and parallel to one another. If necessary, the side surfaces 21, 22 may also be oriented at an angle to each other, so that the tongue 5 is approximately wedge-shaped.
  • the side surfaces 21, 22 may be flat, curved, stepped or otherwise contoured.
  • the tongue 5 is formed symmetrically to a median plane on which a defined by the pin 18 pivot axis S is perpendicular.
  • the side walls 7, 8 are also formed symmetrically.
  • the following description of the side wall 7 thus applies correspondingly to the side wall 8.
  • the tongue needle 1 described so far works as follows:
  • the latch needle 1 performs a reciprocating motion in which its needle body 1 is moved along its longitudinal direction.
  • the tongue 5 performs a reciprocating pivotal movement about the pivot axis S from a closed position illustrated in FIG. 2 via an intermediate layer according to FIG. 1 into a reserve and back. Starting from the reserve, the thread slides over the upper side 9, 10 of the side walls 7, 8, driven by the tongue shaft 11 into the hook interior 19.
  • the tongue slot 6, as illustrated in Figure 2 extends through the needle body 2 and is open on both the top (needle top 31) and the back.
  • the needle-top mouth of the tongue slot 6 is widened by an additional milled or embossing, which generates the step 27 and the surface areas 23.
  • the surface region 23 thereby extends from a hook-side end 32 over a central region 33, which can be found approximately above the bearing device, to an end portion 34 which is occupied by the shaft 11 of the tongue 5, when it is in reserve.
  • this surface area 23 extends at least almost over the entire pivoting range of the tongue 5.
  • the guide of the tongue 5 is precise, especially in the closed position and in the reserve, because the shaft 11 of the tongue 5 in these positions deeper into the narrower defined by the surface areas 24, tongue slot area occurs. This is ultimately achieved in that the surface area 23 with approximately constant width of the contour of the needle top 31 follows.
  • the surface area 23 may have a shape deviating from the strip shape, so that the step 27 no longer follows the contour of the needle top side 31.
  • the surface area 23 may also be divided into area subregions 23a, 23b, as illustrated for example in FIG. 6, although the embodiment according to FIG. 6 does not fall within the scope of the claimed invention. This makes it possible to combine a very extensive reduction of the tongue friction with a precise storage and management of the same.
  • an edge 37 is provided, which covers the surface regions 23, 24 separates each other.
  • a representation of the bearing device has been dispensed with in FIG. This is symbolized solely on the basis of the pivot axis S. It can be formed by a pin, as well as by a pin.
  • the surface areas 23, 24 are, as in the above embodiment, substantially flat, but different as in the above-described embodiment according to Figure 3, here ( Figure 4) is not arranged parallel to each other.
  • the areas 23 form a funnel-like extension of the tongue slot 6 in the direction of the needle top 31.
  • the gaps 28, 29 are wedge-shaped, wherein the gap width is greater at least in the region of the mouth of the tongue slot 6 than the distance between the surface regions 24.
  • the middle Slit width which is about to measure in the middle of the surface area 23, already clearly, ie by a few thousandths of a millimeter larger than the gap width in the area 24 areas.
  • the latch needle 1 has a tongue slot 6, the side walls 7, 8 are profiled on their inner sides.
  • a tongue slot 6 is a tongue 5, for example.
  • the pins 18 immediately adjacent areas of the inside of the side walls 7, 8 serve the lateral guidance of the tongue 5 and define with this a small game. It is formed in this way a precise bearing.
  • the remaining tongue slot 6 may have a larger slot width to reduce the friction of the tongue 5 in the tongue slot 6 as far as possible.
