Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drainage system for a roadway laterally delimited by a curb according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Er beträgt in der Regel zwischen 15 und 25 %.A so-called drainage asphalt is known as a road surface that fulfills two functions. On the one hand, traffic noise is reduced and, on the other hand, it enables direct drainage of the road surface, which increases traffic safety (aquaplaning). The drainage of the road surface when using drainage asphalt depends on the proportion of pores, which in turn depends on the grain composition of the additives. It is usually between 15 and 25%.
A direct infiltration through the drainage asphalt is not possible because of the almost waterproof asphalt binder layer below the drainage asphalt in the ground. Since a contamination of the water to be discharged cannot be ruled out, this possibility is also not sought. Above all, there is a risk that the water will impair the load-bearing function of the base layer.
From DE-PS 36 32 620 it has become known to provide a strip of likewise water-permeable material along the curb, which extends downward beyond the drainage layer to a water-impermeable foundation and with at least one recess on the underside of the strip or in the foundation forms a channel connected to the processes. The water penetrating into the drainage asphalt is directed laterally into the water-permeable strip and from there into the channel below, which is either formed in the water-permeable strip or in the foundation and is connected to an inlet. The formation of such a channel in the construction of the roadway is relatively expensive. Can also the channels are not checked and cleaned if they become clogged. In addition, the maximum amount of water that can be removed depends, among other things, on the proportion of pores or the water permeability of the drainage asphalt and the water-permeable strip.
From DE-OS 36 19 785 it has become known to arrange linear discharge elements at least partially under the water-permeable covering, which are connected to the street gullies or to manholes. The line-shaped discharge elements can be designed as channels. In this embodiment too, the water drainage capacity of the drainage system depends on the water permeability of the water-permeable pavement.
The invention has for its object to provide drainage for a roadway provided with a water-permeable drainage layer, which can be easily installed and effectively removes both the surface water entering the drainage layer and when the drainage capacity is exhausted.
This object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
In the drainage according to the invention, the water-permeable strip known per se along the curb is formed by an edge section of the drainage layer, which is supported by a foundation.
The channel elements forming the channel are shaped so that on the one hand they have lateral (horizontal) openings which are aligned with the edge section. On the other hand, they have upper (vertical) openings at approximately the height of the edge section, as a result of which surface water which has not penetrated the drainage layer is also drained off from the drainage channel in the event of heavy rain. The lower edge of the horizontal openings is preferably at the level of the underside of the edge section so that all water that has penetrated into the edge section can be drained off.
Various designs of channel elements are conceivable for use in the drainage system according to the invention. One embodiment of the invention provides that a slotted channel is used, as has become known per se in connection with surface drainage. The channel elements of a slot channel are provided with side openings that correspond to the edge section are aligned.
According to another embodiment of the invention, cross-sectionally U-shaped channel elements can be provided with a water-permeable cover, in particular a grate, the upper side of which lies approximately at the level of the upper side of the edge section. The lateral openings aligned with the edge section can be arranged directly below the cover, so that under certain circumstances thickening of the edge section can be dispensed with or the thickening only has to be provided as little as possible. As is known, the drainage layer is compacted after application (drainage asphalt). If the edge section has the same thickness as the drainage layer, it is inevitably compressed in an analogous manner.
The cover, in particular the grate, can be embedded in the material of the U-shaped channel element, which poses no problems in the production of the channel element from polymer concrete.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the cover is formed from polymer concrete and has a greater thickness. The cover made of polymer concrete has several continuous slots and at least on one side side openings that are connected to the inlet slots. The top of the cover must be arranged so that the seal is not damaged when the drainage layer and edge section are compacted and the slope to the cover is retained.

In Figures 1 to 3 is an identical layer structure to recognize a lane. A
An edge section 24a of the
In FIG. 1, the edge section 24a extends to the depth of the

Water located on the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2,
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, a
