Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft einen Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt zur Verwendung in Verbindung mit Umreifungsmaßnahmen von Warenstapeln, Paketen, u. dgl., - mit einem im wesentlichen L-förmigen Profilquerschnitt und an den Innenflächen vorgesehenen Selbstkleberlängsstreifen.
  • Bekannte Kantenschutzprofilabschnitte der genannten Art (EP-A1-0 089 533) bestehen regelmäßig aus einem um seine mittlere Längsachse gebogenen Papplagenlaminat. Das ist insofern nicht ganz befriedigend, als der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt an seiner mittleren Innenlängskante gleichsam gerundet ist, so daß beim äußeren Anlegen eines Umreifungsbandes scharfkantige harte Packstücke, wie z.B. Möbel, trotz Kantenschutzfunktion noch beschädigt werden können. Das kann durch eine rinnenförmige Längsausnehmung an der mittleren Innenlängskante vermieden werden (DE-A1-28 05 698). Unbefriedigend ist auch, daß das Umreifungsband im Querschnitt des Profilabschnittes gesehen an der gesamten Außenfläche des Kantenschutzprofilabschnittes anliegt, wodurch im Zuge der Umreifung oftmals eine einwandfreie Spannung des Umreifungsbandes nicht erreicht wird. Die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen an den Innenflächen dienen der kurzzeitigen Fixierung des Kantenschutzprofilabschnittes im Zuge der Umreifungsmaßnahmen. Da die Kantenschutzprofilabschnitte regelmäßig in Stapeln angeliefert werden, besteht natürlich die Gefahr des Gegeneinanderverklebens des Papplagenlaminates in der Stapeleinheit und ist das problemlose Entfernen des einzelnen Kantenschutzprofilabschnittes erschwert, weshalb im Stapel die einzelnen Kantenschutzprofilabschnitte mindestens an der Berührungsseite mit Silikonpapier ummantelt sind. Das ist aufwendig. Außerdem verbraucht sich durch diese nicht beabsichtigte Verklebung während des Stapelns die adhäsive Eigenschaft an der Oberfläche des Klebemittels.
  • Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, den Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt der eingangs genannten Art so auszubilden, daß im Zuge der Umreifungsmaßnahmen mit dem Umreifungsband in manipulationstechnischer Hinsicht keinerlei Probleme bzw. Besonderheiten bestehen.
  • Die erfindungsgemäße Lösung dieser Aufgabe besteht darin, daß der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt aus einer zumindest teilweise aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff bestehenden Masse extrudiert ist und zwischen Längskanten mit jeweils einer durchlaufenden Längseinbuchtung versehen ist, in der der zugeordnete Selbstkleberlängsstreifen eines im Stapel vorgelagerten Profilabschnittes ohne Berührung der Einbuchtungsoberfläche liegt. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt können die Längseinbuchtungen auf der Außenseite der Profilflansche, die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen auf deren Innenseite angeordnet sein. Man kann die Anordnung aber auch so treffen, daß die Längseinbuchtungen auf der Innenseite der Profilflansche, die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen auf deren Außenseite angeordnet sind.
  • Die Erfindung geht von der Überlegung aus, daß der Einsatz von Silikonpapierummantelungen bzw. -zwischenlagen im Stapel entfallen kann, wenn das Profil mit entsprechenden äußeren Längseinbuchtungen hergestellt wird. Das ist bei einer Herstellung des Kantenschutzprofilabschnittes aus Papplagenlaminat nicht möglich. Vielmehr muß der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt hierfür durch Extrusion hergestellt werden, die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen werden vorzugsweise durch Koextrusion erzeugt. Das kann ohne weiteres aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff allein, z.B. einem Abfallprodukt in Form von Polyäthylen geschehen, es besteht aber ohne weiteres auch die Möglichkeit, mit einem Papier/Kunststoffabfallgemisch zu arbeiten. Die äßeren Längseinbuchtungen haben zudem den Vorteil, daß die Anlagefläche für das Umreifungsband ganz beachtlich verringert wird, so daß es zu Schlaffheiten im angelegten Umreifungsband nicht mehr kommen kann. - Nach bevorzugter Ausführungsform ist der erfindungsgemäße Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt an seiner mittleren Innenlängskante mit einer rinnenförmigen Längsausnehmung versehen. Hierdurch wird eine Verformung der Profilflansche ermöglicht und sichergestellt, daß sie im Stapel genau die vorgegebene Position annehmen, bei der die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen sich über den Einbuchtungen befinden. Auch ist sichergestellt, daß spitze empfindliche Kanten, in deren Bereich der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt aufgesetzt wird, nicht beschädigt werden können, da sie innerhalb der Längsausnehmungen zu liegen kommen. Auch das setzt eine Herstellung des Kantenschutzprofilabschnittes durch Extrusion voraus.
  • Im folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand einer ein Ausführungsbeispiel darstellenden Zeichnung erläutert; es zeigen
    • Fig. 1 einen Stapel Kantenschutzprofilabschnitte zur Verwendung in Verbindung mit Umreifungsmaßnahmen von Warenstapeln, Paketen u. dgl. und
    • Fig. 2 einen an einem Warenstapel, Paket o. dgl. angesetzten Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt mit angelegtem Umreifungsband.
  • Wie aus den Figuren ohne weiteres ersichtlich ist, wird der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt 1 in Verbindung mit Umreifungsmaßnahmen von Warenstapeln, Paketen u. dgl. verwendet. Er weist einen im wesentlichen L-förmigen profilquerschnitt auf und ist an den Innenflächen mit Selbstkleberlängsstreifen 2 versehen, mit deren Hilfe der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt 1 an einem Packstück, wie z.B. einem Möbel stück zufolge seiner Klebrigkeit haftet.
  • Das Kantenschutzprofil ist aus einer Masse extrudiert, die zumindest teilweise aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff, insbes. Polyäthylen, besteht. Besonders geeignet sind Abfälle aus Papier und thermoplastischem Kunststoff in Form von kunststoffkaschiertem Papier. Zwischen den Außenlängskanten ist jeweils eine durchlaufende Längseinbuchtung 3 vorgesehen, in der der zugeordnete koextrudierte Selbstkleberlängsstreifen 2 eines im Stapel vorgelagerten Profilabschnittes 1 ohne Berührung der Einbuchtungsoberfläche liegt (vgl. Fig. 1). Im übrigen entnimmt man Fig. 2, daß der Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt 1 an seiner mittleren Innenlängskante mit einer rinnenförmigen Längsausnehmung 4 versehen ist, die Beschädigungen empfindlicher Kanten von Packstücken mit Sicherheit ausschließt.

Claims (4)

1. Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt zur Verwendung in Verbindung mit Umreifungsmaßnahmen von Warenstapeln, Paketen u. dgl., - mit einem im wesentlichen L-förmigen Profilquerschnitt und an den Innenflächen vorgesehenen Selbstkleberlängsstreifen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß er aus einer zumindest teilweise aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff bestehenden Masse extrudiert ist und zwischen Längskanten mit jeweils einer durchlaufenden Längseinbuchtung (3) versehen ist, in der der zugeordnete Selbstkleberlängsstreifen (2) eines im Stapel vorgelagerten Profilabschnittes (1) ohne Berührung der Einbuchtungsoberfläche liegt.
2. Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Längseinbuchtungen (3) auf der Außenseite der Profilflansche, die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen (2) auf deren Innenseite angeordnet sind.
3. Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Längseinbuchtungen (3) auf der Innenseite der Profilflansche, die Selbstkleberlängsstreifen (2) auf deren Außenseite angeordnet sind.
4. Kantenschutzprofilabschnitt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß er an seiner mittleren Innenlängskante mit einer rinnenförmigen Längsausnehmung (4) versehen ist.
