Polypropylen hoher Dichte, von dener/in der US-PS 3 986 212 heißt, daß sie das richtige Ausmaß an Flexibilität und Festigkeit besitzen, sind unzulänglich, wie nachstehend dargelegt wird.
operative Träger/und für eine langfristige Stabilität der implantierten Prothesen in Bereichen hoher Belastung erforderlich ist, die durch ein Knocheneinwachsen verankert sind. Jeder dieser Kunststoffe liefert, wenn er nach den Lehren vorliegender Erfindung hergestellt worden ist, Überzüge oder freistehende Werkstücke mit den vorstehend aufgezählten physikalischen Eigenschaften. Beispiele dieser Kunststoffe sind Polysulfone, wie Polyphenylsulfon, Polyäthersulföne, Polyarylsulfone und dergleichen, ferner Polyphenylensulfide, Polyacetale, thermoplastische Polyester, wie aromatische Polyester-Polycarbonate, des weiteren aromatische Polyamide, aromatische Polyamidimide, thermoplastische Polyimide und Polyarylätherketone, Polyarylnitrile, aromatische Polyhydroxyäther und dergleichen. Die am meisten bevorzugten Kunststoffe zur Verwendung gemäß vorliegender Erfindung sind aromatische Polysulfone. Diese

Der Kunststoff mit einem Gehalt von 1 Gewichtsprozent Diphenylsulfon wird bei 200 C schwach gesintert, während der andere Kunststoff bei dieser Temperatur nicht sintert. In allen Fällen, bei denen die Sintertemperatur erhöht wird, besitzt der plastifizierte Kunststoff überlegene mechanische
Eigenschaften in der porösen gesinterten Form. Es ist ersichtlich, daß der Zusatz von Diphenylsulfon (oder anderer niedermolekularer Substanzen) es ermöglicht,
niedrigere Temperaturen bei einer gegebenen Zeit angewendet
werden.

Claims (1)
- Patentansprüche\1.·: Prothetische Mittel aus einer funktionellen Trägerkomponente und einem sich zumindest über einen Teil dieser Komponente erstreckenden überzug aus einem biotechnischen porösen thermoplastischen Kunststoff, der eine Verträglichkeit mit und eine Leitfunktion für das . -Einwachsen von Knochensplittern aufweist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der thermoplastische Kunststoff(a) mittlere Porendurchraesser von etwa 90 bis etwa 600 pm,(b) gegenseitige Porenverbindungen mit mittleren Durchmessern von über etwa 50 um,(c) einen Elastizitätsmodul von etwa I7 577 bis etwa 211 000kg/cm ,(d) eine Porosität von über etwa 40 # und(e) eine bleibende Gesamtverformung von unter 1 % bei einer konstanten Beanspruchung von 70 kg/cm bei Raumtemperaturaufweist, wobei alle diese Eigenschaften ausreichend sind;, daß erstens die auf die Skelettmuskulatur ausgeübten Beanspruchungen auf die Knochensplitter innerhalb der Poren dieses Kunststoffes übertragbar sind und daß zweitens eine ausreichende Belastungs- und Porenstabilität zur Förderung einejr..irreversiblen Ossifikation gewährleistet ist.2. Prothetische Mittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der poröse Überzug eine Dicke von etwa 0,5 bis etwa 10 mm aufweist.3. Prothetische Mittel nach den Ansprüchen 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß' der poröse Überzug eine Dicke von etwa 0,5809842/1040 ^ ORIGINAL INSPECTEDbis etwa 7 mm auf vielst»k. Prothetische Mittel nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der thermoplastische Kunststoff verstärkt ist Ulla einen Elastizitätsmodul bis zu etwa 211 0002 kg/cm aufwe i s t.5· Prothetische Mittel nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis K, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der thermoplastische Kunststoff frei von Verstärkungen ist und einen Elastizitätsmodul von etwa 17 577 bis etwa 35 l6o kg/cm aufweist.6. Prothetische Mittel nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet<, daß der thermoplastische Kunststoff eine Porosität von etwa 4c bis etwa 70 % aufweist.7° Prothetische Mittel nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der thermoplastische Kunststoff eine Porosität von über 50 % aufweist.8. Prothetische Mittel nach mindestens einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche in Form einer Küftgelenkprothese.9· Prothetische Mittel nach mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7 in Form eines endostalen Biattimplantats.10. Prothetische Mittel nach mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7 in Form eines innerhalb des Knochenmarks gelegenen Nagels.809842/104011. Prothetische Mittel nach mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7 in Form einer spongiösen Schraube.12. Prothetische Mittel nach mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7 in Form einer kortikalen Schraube.13. Verfahren zur Herstellung der prothetischen Mittel aus einer funktioneilen Trägerkomponente und einem sich zumindest über einen Teil dieser Komponente erstreckenden Überzug aus einem biotechnischen porösen thermoplastischen Kunststoff nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man mindestens einen Teil der Oberfläche der funktioneilen Trägerkomponente mit einem solchen biotechnischen thermoplastischen Kunststoff, der mindestens eine Fraktion einer biomodalen Verteilung von mittleren Teilchendurchmessern innerhalb eines Bereiches von etwa 7 ' 1 bis etwa 5 : 1 aufweist, eine ausreichende Zeitgeeignetenlang bei einer/Temperatur in Berührung bringt und diese Teilchen des biotechnischen thermoplastischen Kunststoffes zu einem porösen Überzug sintert, der(a) mittlere Porendurchmesser von etwa 90 bis etwa 600 pm,(b) gegenseitige Porenverbindungen mit mittleren Porendurchmessern von über etwa 50 pm und(c) eine Porosität von über etwa 40 % aufweist.8098 42/1040
