Holder for delicate instruments to be processed in a dishwasher

The innovation concerns a holder for delicate instruments, in particular for microsurgical instruments, which can be placed in a dishwashing machine's dish insert provided with a grid base or similar for processing.

When mechanically cleaning or reprocessing delicate instruments, such as instruments used in micro-invasive surgery, such as instruments for vascular surgery, ophthalmology, etc. in a program-controlled dishwasher for the laboratory or hospital area, placing the small instruments in the sieve trays

&iacgr;&ogr; or similar inserts of the dishwasher are a problem. For small instruments such as atraumatic clamps, tweezers, etc., special holders and shelves are often missing in the baskets. Therefore, there is a risk that the unsecured instruments will change position due to the jet pressure during the rinsing process, possibly covering each other, touching each other and therefore not being optimally prepared in the rinsing process, or even being damaged. This innovation is intended to remedy this.

According to the innovation, this problem is solved by the features specified in claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the innovation arise from the following subclaims.

The holder designed in accordance with the new design, which can be easily secured to the grid or sieve base of the dishwashing machine insert, whereby several holders can be provided on the grid base for each instrument, provides a simple and advantageous way of securing the position of instruments during cleaning and rinsing. The special contour of the elastic clamping part of the holder creates minimal contact surfaces on the instrument, so that optimal surface cleaning is achieved without residual water drops. The holder designed in accordance with the new design is preferably made entirely of silicone, so that damage to the instruments to be secured is excluded. For additional instrument locking, holders can also be removably arranged at the end in front of a deposited instrument on the grid base. This also blocks a very small instrument that may not be sufficiently secured in position by the clamping part of the holder from being moved lengthways. The easy detachability of the holders from the grid base of the dishwashing basket allows a variable instrument assembly, which also takes into account instruments with different shapes.

A dishwashing insert (1) shown in Fig. 1 in the form of a sieve tray for instruments (2, 2') used in particular in micro-invasive surgery, such as instruments for vascular surgery, ophthalmology in the form of atraumatic clamps, tweezers, etc., which are to be processed in a program-controlled dishwashing machine for the laboratory or hospital area, has a sieve or grid base (3) with releasably attached holders (4) made of silicone material for the filigree instruments (2, 2').

Each holder (4) is designed with an elastic clamping part (4a) for the instrument (2, 2') to be held and with a fastening part (4b) that can be detachably secured to the sieve or grid base (3) of the washware insert (1), the clamping part (4a) consisting of two elastic clamping brackets (5) located opposite one another on the holder (4). The two clamping brackets (5) form and delimit an insertion opening (6) for the small instrument (2, 2') to be held. The edge (7) of the insertion opening (6) that surrounds the instrument (2, 2') is designed in the shape of a blade (see also Fig. 4). The blade-shaped insertion opening (6) has a polygonal contour, which is wave-shaped at the base (8) of the blade-shaped insertion opening (6). This creates minimal contact surfaces in a circle around the circumference of the instrument, so that optimal surface cleaning is achieved without residual water drops.

Fig. 3 shows the holder (4) in the front view in an enlarged representation with a clamped instrument (2, 2'), which is touched on the circular circumference at, for example, 3 points by the polygonal contour of the insertion opening (6). The holder (4) according to the innovation is made completely from a highly elastic silicone material so that damage to the instruments (2, 2') to be clamped is excluded. The upper ends (9) of the opposing elastic clamping brackets (5) are preferably V-shaped.

The fastening parts (4b) of the holders (4), which are also elastic, are designed in the manner of a harpoon bar (see harpoon bar 11, Fig. 2) for detachable fastening to the sieve base (3) of the instrument insert (1). The fastening of the holder (4) is clearly shown in the perspective view according to Fig. 2. The harpoon bar (11) of the holder (4) can be seen to be detachably clamped between two parallel sieve struts (12) of the sieve or grid base (3) of the instrument insert (1). The highly elastic silicone material of the holder (4) enables the holders (4) to be easily detachable or moved from the grid base (3) of the dishware insert (1).

&iacgr;&ogr; a variable instrument configuration, which also takes into account instruments (2, 2') with different shapes (see Fig. 1). For example, one, two or more holders (4) can be placed on the sieve bottom per instrument (2, 2'). The holders (4) can also be left on the instrument (2, 2') after instrument preparation if the instrument is to be transported together with the holder (4) to a sterilization station, possibly downstream of the dishwasher, and fixed in another sieve insert.

For additional instrument locking, additional holders (4) can be releasably arranged at the end in front of a deposited instrument (2, 2') on the grid base (3), as shown schematically in Fig. In this way, a very small instrument (2, 2') that may not be sufficiently clamped by the clamping part can be additionally secured against displacement in the longitudinal direction.

Claims (9)

1. Holder for delicate instruments, in particular for microsurgical instruments, which can be placed in a dishwashing machine's washware insert provided with a grid base or the like for processing, characterized in that the holder ( 4 ) is designed with an elastic clamping part ( 4a ) for the instrument ( 2 or 2 ') to be accommodated and with a fastening part ( 4b ) which can be detachably secured to the grid base ( 3 ) of the dishwashing insert ( 1 ). 2. Holder according to claim 1, characterized in that the clamping part ( 4a ) consists of two elastic clamping brackets ( 5 ) which are opposite one another on the holder ( 4 ) and which delimit an insertion opening ( 6 ) for the instrument ( 2 , 2 ') to be received, wherein the edge ( 7 ) of the insertion opening ( 6 ) which surrounds the instrument ( 2 , 2 ') is designed in the shape of a blade. 3. Holder according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the cutting-shaped insertion opening ( 6 ) has a polygonal contour. 4. Holder according to at least one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the contour on the bottom ( 8 ) of the cutting-shaped insertion opening ( 6 ) is wave-shaped. 5. Holder according to at least one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the opposing elastic clamping brackets ( 5 ) delimit at their upper ends ( 9 ) a preferably V-shaped insertion slot ( 10 ) for the instrument to be received ( 2 , 2 '). 6. Holder according to claim 1, characterized in that clamping parts ( 4a ) are designed without insertion openings ( 6 ). 7. Holder according to one or more of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the elastic fastening part of the holder ( 4 ) is designed in the manner of a harpoon web for detachable fastening to the grid base ( 3 ) of the dishware insert ( 1 ). 8. Holder according to one or more of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that it consists of a highly elastic silicone material. 9. Holder according to at least one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that for locking the instrument, additional holders ( 4 ) are each releasably arranged at the end in front of a deposited instrument ( 2 , 2 ') on the grid base ( 3 ).
