24 healthy pigs (with the weight of about 30 +/-2 kg) at the age of 80 days are selected and randomly divided into a control group, a test group 1, a test group 2 and a test group 3, wherein 6 pigs are selected. The pigs of test group 1, test group 2 and test group 3 were fed with a basal diet containing 1%, 1.5% and 2% of the herbal compound prepared in example 1, respectively, and the control group was fed with a normal basal diet, which was a complete feed prepared in a feed factory in the pig farm in the Qinglong mountain. After feeding for 70 days, both groups were fed with normal pig feed for 15 days. During the test period, pigs in each group were fed and drunk water freely, managed and immunized according to the conventional procedure. During the trial, herd feeding and health status were carefully observed and recorded daily. Individuals were weighed on the morning empty stomach at the beginning (0d) and end of the test, respectively. The test pigs were slaughtered at 165 days of age, and the test and control pigs were deprived of feed at 6 pm on the last day. All 24 pigs tested were slaughtered 6 points on the morning of day 2. And calculating the daily gain and the feed conversion rate. And (4) determining indexes such as dressing percentage, eye muscle area, backfat thickness, lean meat percentage, leaf fat weight and the like.
1. Influence of compound traditional Chinese medicine feed additive on growth performance of pigs
As can be seen from Table 1, the weight average of the pigs at 80 days of age and at slaughter was not significantly different between the control group and the test group. During the test period, the daily weight gain of the three groups of test groups is obviously higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05); differences between feed reward groups were not significant. The results show that the pig compound traditional Chinese medicine feed additive can obviously promote daily gain and improve the growth performance of pigs.
TABLE 1 Effect of Compound traditional Chinese medicine feed additives on pig growth Performance
Group of 80 days old weight (kg) Weight in marketing (kg) Daily gain (g) Feed conversion (%)
Control group 30.2±2.4 83.1±2.9 622.3±42.4 3.24
Test group 1 30.6±1.9 87.3±3.2 667.1±50.1* 3.12
Test group 2 30.4±2.5 87.2±4.7 668.2±63.2* 3.09
Test group 3 29.8±2.7 85.4±3.4 654.1±52.3* 3.19
Note: indicates significant difference between control and test groups (P < 0.05); daily weight gain (slaughter weight-80 day old weight)/test time (85) means the average daily weight gain during the test period.
2. Influence of compound traditional Chinese medicine feed additive on pig carcass traits
After the traditional Chinese medicine compound preparation is added into the basic daily ration of the test pig, the lean meat percentage of the test pig 1-3 is respectively and obviously improved by 8.4 percent (P is less than 0.05), 7.5 percent (P is less than 0.05) and 6.9 percent (P is less than 0.05) compared with the control group; 6 th-7 th-rib backfat thickness of the pigs in the test group 2 and the 3 is reduced by 4.35 percent compared with the pigs in the control group; the weight of the test group 1-3 leaf lard is obviously reduced by 27.9 percent (P is less than 0.05), 27.9 percent (P is less than 0.05) and 25.6 percent (P is less than 0.05) compared with the control group respectively. The eye muscle area (P ═ 0.08), the dressing percentage and carcass weight tended to increase (see table 2). The results show that the pig compound traditional Chinese medicine feed additive can obviously improve the lean meat percentage and obviously reduce the deposition amount of pig backfat fat and lard, and the pig compound traditional Chinese medicine feed additive can obviously reduce the fat deposition amount of pigs and can effectively improve the carcass quality of the pigs.
