Abstract
Patente de Invenção <B>"PURIFICAçãO DE óXIDO DE PROPILENO"<D> O óxido de propileno é obtido por um processo de epoxidação, que usa metanol como um solvente, pode ser tratado de maneira eficaz, para remover o acetaldeído, submetendo-se o produto de reação de epoxidação bruto à destilação fracionada. O solvente metanol é utilizado durante tal destilação para baixar a volatilidade relativa da impureza de acetaldeído, por meio do que se torna possível obter uma fração de fundo contendo substancialmente todo o acetaldeído. O óxido de propileno purificado, tendo uma reduzida concentração de acetaldeído, é removido como uma corrente de topo. A água também pode ser separada de maneira eficaz, a partir do óxido de propileno, usando-se esse procedimento.
