Abstract

Se proporciona un proceso para hacer un compuesto absorbente que incluye fibras absorbentes, polímero superabsorbente y opcionalmente fibras termoplásticas y otros ingredientes. La síntesis (es decir, la polimerización) del superabsorbente se integra completamente en el proceso para formar el compuesto absorbente. Específicamente, la polimerización del superabsorbente se inicia desde el interior de una pluralidad de fibras absorbentes y/o termoplásticas, que luego forman un tejido. El proceso integrado elimina la necesidad de fabricar el polímero superabsorbente en forma separada antes de los procesos de formación de fibra y de tejido.
