- (transitive) To have a particular disease or condition.
- He suffered from cholera.
Usage notes
[edit]- Many people advise against describing a disabled person as suffering from the condition that relates to their status as a disabled person and suggest describing a disabled person as "having", "living with", or "experiencing" that condition instead.
