2016

McCombie's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Restoring Accountability

Tony believes that her duty as an elected official is to serve those she represents. Illinois has seen enough career politicians. It is time for a State Representative who will be a public servant and support term limits, redistricting reform, and holding government accountable.

Working to Reach Common Ground

If you see a problem, you don’t just talk about it or blame other people for it. Tony McCombie has a proven, bipartisan record of finding ways to successfully fix problems. If elected representative of the 71st District, Tony will work to reach fiscally responsible compromises that will get Illinois back on the right track towards prosperity.

Protecting Your Second Amendment Right

The right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed to us by not only the US Constitution, but the Illinois Constitution as well. Legislation used to heavily regulate and control gun purchases infringes upon your Second Amendment right.

Agriculture

Agriculture is a vital part of the 71st District, and the number one economic engine in the state of Illinois. Burdensome taxes and regulations threaten the success of family farms throughout the state and our district. Tony will work to give Illinois famers the independence they need to be successful, thriving parts of our community.

Valuing Education

A successful economy requires a well-educated workforce. Tony McCombie supports fully funding our schools to ensure our children receive the best education possible. She will dedicate her time to ensuring the students in our part of the state are not forgotten.[10]

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Illinois

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
