Biography
Julian B. Garrett was born in Des Moines, Iowa. Garrett's career experience includes working as a farmer and an attorney. He served on the Indianola Little League Board of Directors.[1]

Elections for the Iowa State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Pam Deichmann was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Julian B. Garrett was unopposed in the Republican primary. Deichmann faced Garrett and Clair Tom Thompson (L) in the general election.[2][3][4] Incumbent Garrett defeated both challengers in the general election.[5]
2013
Garrett won election in the special election for Iowa State Senate District 13. The seat was vacant following Kent Sorenson's (R) resignation following allegations of ethics violations. Garrett was selected as the Republican nominee at an October 17 caucus. He defeated Mark Davitt (D) in the special election, which took place on November 19.[6][7][8][9][10]
