Jim Sacia
Jim Sacia (b. March 5, 1944) is a former Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 89 from 2003 to September 30, 2013. Sacia resigned to pursue a potential run for statewide office.[1]
Biography
Sacia's professional experience includes serving on the Board of Directors of the German American Bank, working as Chief Executive Officer of Nite Equipment Incorporated, and Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He served as a Lieutenant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1965 to 1969.

Issues
Death penalty
Sacia, who is a former FBI agent, stood firmly in favor of the death penalty when the issue came up for a vote in 2011. Sacia cited a specific case where a man named Brian Dugan confessed to killing the 7-year-old Melissa Ackerman in 1985 in exchange for avoiding the death penalty.
“We wouldn’t have had information on the heinousness of this crime had we not had the tool of the death penalty,” Sacia told the media.[2]

Sacia won re-election in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 89. Sacia was unopposed in the March 20 Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4][5]

2010
Sacia won re-election to the 89th District seat against Democrat Victoria F. Grizzoffi. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on February 2nd. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[6]

On November 4, 2008, Republican Jim Sacia won re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 89 receiving 34,119 votes, ahead of Democrat Walter Johnson who received 15,238 votes.[7]

Sacia received a score of 50.00 out of 100 in 2012 for a grade of D- according to the IOP’s grading scale. His score was tied for the 55th highest among all 120 members of the Illinois House of Representatives included in the Vote Card.[10]
