Campaign finance

2016

Kerr ran for a seat on the Texas Second District Court of Appeals in the 2016 elections. Incumbent Justice Anne Gardner (R) did not seek re-election in 2016. Kerr and Dabney Bassel were the top two finishers in the March 1 Republican primary. Because neither received more than 50 percent of the vote, they faced each other in a May 24 runoff. Kerr won. No Democrats filed to run for Gardner's seat.[1]
