Jaime Tijerina (Republican Party) is the Chief Justice of the Texas Thirteenth District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on January 1, 2025. His current term ends on December 31, 2030.
Tijerina (Republican Party) ran for election as Chief Justice of the Texas Thirteenth District Court of Appeals. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Tijerina was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott (R).[1]
Biography
When he served on the Texas District 93, Jaime Tijerina lived in Mission, Texas. He graduated from McAllen High School. Tijerina served in the United States Army and reached the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and was awarded a bronze star for his service. He earned a B.B.A. in business from the University of Texas - Pan American in 1991 and a J.D. from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 1995.[2][3]
Tijerina previously worked as a deputy city attorney with the city of Mission. Tijerina was elected to serve as the county attorney of Kenedy County.[2]
