As hyped as I am for Sonic 3, I still have questions. And I’m very glad that it leaves some wiggle room for a Shadow spinoff and a fourth film.

One of those main questions being how WAS Gerald kept alive for so long? Was he that angry that fueled him, or did GUN give him an agent that slowed down his ability to age? Or did Shadow’s immortality transfer to the quill that Gerald continuously licked in order to slow down his aging process?

I feel like I need to see it again to get an answer. I definitely need to see it again.

Fuck it headcanon time—Gerald licking the quill is what made him live for as long as he could. I’m willing to bet that Shadow’s immortality had a connection to the chaos energy within the quill, ergo making Gerald lick it in every other scene he’s in.

It’s also 12am in my timezone so I am eepy and still emotional from my screening. I’m sorry if my thoughts are a bit catewumpas👉🥺👈
