Just putting this out there cuz I think a lot of Sonic fans need to hear it.

As badass as Amy Rose's introduction is, y'all gotta appreciate the subtle details that enrich/develop her character WITHOUT SAYING A WORD!

If you look closely, you'll notice how her eyes and mouth shift ever so slightly after she reveals herself. I ABSOLUTELY love this because it manages to get across quickly and efficiently what kind of person she is: someone who's confident, determined, sure of herself, and also has quite an attitude, like she's not above making a few witty remarks here and there.

There's also the subject of her choice of clothing as her cloak establishes that A) she's been on Earth for quite a while hence as she's learned how to conceal herself, AND that hasn't been searching a small area as again the cloak would be needed in order to keep hidden from whatever humans she might encounter.

AGAIN, I CAN'T APPLAUD THE WRITERS AND EFFECTS ARTISTS ENOUGH FOR ADDING LITTLE DETAILS LIKE THIS THAT REALLY ELEVATE THESE CHARACTERS TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!!!!!

Amy in this version obviously has experience in combat with the Metals and is very good at hiding and sneaking. She takes battles very seriously and efficiently, much like Shadow, opting for total annihilation. However, she is also clearly witty. Not only that, her chaos energy is on another level with her transferring her powers to a weapon instead of using them directly. She has adapted to improve the litas. Especially considering that canonically the Metals can learn other's attacks and replicate them themselves. So direct confrontation would be bad, so Let the writers cook!

If you had any doubts about Omega making an appearance In a future Sonic sequel possibly Sonic 4, keep in mind that we Did technically already see his design by the end of sonic 3, because if you look at closely at the robots during the climax in space, you'll notice that some of them have a VERY similar design to Omega from Sonic Heroes and made by GUN at that, yeeaah I think it's pretty safe to say that we are definitely going to be seeing omega and possibly other robots in the Sonic films soon ^^

i feel like sonic being the one to give shadow the Dont Kill People Speech gives them like. a boost in their friendship level dynamic VERY early on that i'm curious to see how it will go forward. like, in the games, sonic and shadow mostly race and fight in SA2 until the end, and then shadow has amnesia for a few games, so by the time they're back to where they were they have a pretty solid dynamic of "race and fight (but with slightly less murder attempts)". sonic and shadow CONNECTED on a level in the movie that i can't think of them ever doing in the games. shadow avoids talking about his feelings as much as possible, i can't think of him ever actually talking about his trauma outside of sonic battle, which was to rouge and emerl, and not as a way to actually process until rouge dropped that he had a soul. but like. in the movie sonic and shadow actually talk about their grief and then when fighting you can see them just smiling at each other that like. it's 1am do you guys see what i'm saying

i love shadow's forever idenity crisis bc no it's not bc of the biolizard. no its not bc of the memory loss. no it's not because of the shadow androids and no its not becuase of the alien half. you see he was made to be THE guy. but while he was asleep THE THE guy just showed up. its like if you carved a rock to be michelangelo's david and then you just found a rock somewhere that naturally formed as michelangelo's david but like cooler and better and it doesnt need the base to stand and the untrained eye can't tell the difference but you (michelangelo's david) can absolutely tell

I need more of Shadow bristling any time Sonic calls him "faker" because while to Sonic it's a funny callback to when they met to Shadow it's the manifestation of all his insecurities affirming said insecurities. I need more of Shadow resenting Sonic's very existence while also knowing intellectually that he is being very irrational about it and that Sonic is a dependable ally even if he's UTTERLY INFURIATING TO EXIST NEAR and SEEMINGLY INVALIDATES HIS OWN FUCKING EXISTENCE and WON'T STOP POKING THE DAMN WOUND and COME ON THERE'S NO WAY HE ISN'T DOING IT ON PURPOSE (he is not. sonic has no idea what depths he's stirring, he just wants to get shadow to race him for the 76th time) and angsting over the dissonance. I need more of Shadow looking at the "daniel/the cooler daniel" meme image and imagining himself over daniel and sonic over the cooler daniel and half-heartedly, self-deprecatingly chuckling to himself. because fuck, daniel, you really do get me don't you.

Considering the fact that Gerald was developing weapons for GUN, there's a very real chance that they shot Maria using the weapons he created

I think this particular aspect of their backstory got translated well into the movies with how in the movie they shot the container that caused the explosion using weapons powered by Shadow's energy

saw movie 3 again in a ~totally legal i promise~ way and just saying.

when sonic falls out of super form, it's right before the laser goes off and hits the moon. and when he does, if you look, shadow snaps his neck to look at sonic as he starts falling, right before the bright light goes off with the laser.

with that look, i don't think shadow saw sonic fall to earth. i think he saw sonic start to fall, and then the laser came between them, and he thinks sonic got fucking obliterated by the eclipse cannon.

he thinks sonic fucking exploded. that's why he didn't go after him. he thinks he evaporated. he thinks he's DEAD.

Well atleast now Sonic isn't the only one who thinks the other's dead

Hi so I finally saw Sonic 3 at a movie premiere with a friend of mine and OMG IT WAS FIRE.....

ANYWAY I HAVE A THEORY Y'ALL

In the movie universe Shadow arrived to earth via a little sus comet instead of being created by Gerald.

After seeing it it i've came to the realization that it have a awfuly similar look to the Black Arms comet in Shadow 05

So I have a feeling Shadow little comet might be a part of it, which would be fire if they ever decide to explore his Black Arms lore

Anyway other than that this movie got my soul, I wish Rouge could have been in it but I still have hope for her introduction in a future Shadow movie/serie project ( I need Shadow and Stone to have a complete Guacamole dinner together please ). Also what with all those Metal Sonic's at the end of the movie like it gave me flashback of the Shadow robots in Sonic Heroes xD

looking at the sonic3 postcredits, imagine theyll use sonic ova elements in sonic4.

and im not only talking about the "sonic and metal are spiritually connected" part or the "strange isn't it" line.

i need sonic4 to include the utter trauma and pain from sonic watching a different kind of him die out. an entity that could've co-existed with him - if it wasnt for the fact one was born with kindness and the other created for destruction - dying right in front of him. like it's his brother, like it's his twin, like it's him dying at that exact moment.

or they can include the ova clothes. thatd be cool too

My thoughts on the third Sonic movie (in no particular order, lots of spoilers):

Interesting the kind of changes they made to Shadow's backstory.

Which is all interesting, because in the Shadow the Hedgehog game, Black Doom oversaw Shadow's creation himself, which is how Gerald and Maria got to record that message that helped Shadow decide to turn his back on the Black Arms to save Earth. In this case, so far, humanity will be completely blind in the event the Black Arms ever do make an appearance.

Very excited to see where his story goes now!

That scene in which Shadow asked Maria if he was a monster "like the one in the movie" was a nice touch. Because the monster in the movie they were watching was the Biolizard. Which in SA2 was the Ultimate Lifeform before Shadow and also Gerald's backup plan in his revenge as the thing used Chaos Control and attached itself to the Space Colony to set it on a crash course to Earth after Sonic and Co. (+ Shadow, Rouge and Eggman) stopped the Eclipse Canon. Like, not only were there direct links between Shadow and the Biolizard in the game, but in the movie they've decided to have Shadow wonder if there's a parallel between the two as well!
