Yes im posting about commissions again, sue me lmao. Dont have an official post for em yet anyway

But yeah! Trying to get money for a tablet to draw in bed with, hopefully. And maybe to spoil the pets. So, commissions. Decided that doing them wasn't the worst, so i've opened up more options that aren't locked to slugcats. Headshots and fullbodies. Not completely sure about fullbody prices just yet, i might raise em if i feel its warranted. Shall be seen

But yeah gimmie your guys to draw. Especially good at murder cats (thank you warrior cats phase)

I can make your cats into little fuckin creatures like this. Its my favourite activity. Mine and sponty's cats btw

Ive actually got quite a few doodles of em, i should share em more

Kia beloved 🙏🙏🙏 so creature

may i raise you a funny little ship i think you should draw at some point.... road rage/triple divorce (suns+pebs+sigs polycule)

Okay so i can't do that with my guys, simply because Peepaw doesn't want any part of what sunstone got going on

But. Allow me to present: 3sig+

My man peepaw from (good timeline) Solar Flare + Sigs, Suns and Pibbles from @tenspontaneite 's Assembly They are so fucking good man. I love them so very much

Two gremlins exploded into Peepaw's universe and good things have been happening ever since

“Yes I did give Sig hanahaki”

if I recall correctly, Hanahaki(hope I spelt it right) is supposedly caused from strong unrequited love, so the real question:

Who is it from?

Oh boy, time to ramble about 3sig+, my beloved. Get over here @tenspontaneite

Hanahaki Peepaw exists in an au of our Assembly/Solar Flare crossover thing

These are the bitches Peepaw is getting his plants from (assembly Pibbles, Sigs and Suns)

Now, when it comes to the plants themselves, they're not strictly a result of unrequited love. One type comes from unacknowledged love (benign) and one comes from unreciprocated or lost love (malignant) The former is harmless as long as the plants are trimmed back, they just kinda vibe. The latter will, in fact, fuck you up. Very persistent. Quick to grow n spread. A twisted version of something that was good, yknow? (All of that is very much all sponty lmao, my worldbuilding juice has been mostly used up on solar flare)

Peepaw gets to experience both!! Because harming him is my favourite activity <3

Sig's plant is a Marble Queen Pothos (because i have one ive affectionately named 'Peepaw' after him. Symbolism also checks out). Pretty and green. Good patterns on leaves

The malevolent version however,,

White do be choking out the green. Wont kill him, but its sure making him very overheated (blocked vents cause of roots n shit, cant draw in or let out air to cool the puppet). He gets this version during a very, very bad year. Specifically because of loss, not because he' not loved.

So yeah. Fun stuff

Interdimensional polycule our beloved 🙏

I am literally incapable of being given hanahaki as a concept and not doing stupid worldbuilding about it 👌👌

This week, from 23 January 2022 to 28 January 2022, I want to draw cats in wizard hats.

Reblog this post with a photo of your cat. In the body of the post, include the cat’s name, and what kind of wizard they would be; and I’ll draw your cat from that photo, adding in an appropriate wizard hat.

The normal rules for my art events apply here. If you’re not familiar with them:

  • only one request at a time, and only one photo per request
  • once your request has been drawn and posted, you can then make another request (such as for another cat you have)
  • “just draw whatever you want” is NOT helpful; if I didn’t want suggestions, I wouldn’t be asking for suggestions
  • as long as I’m able to both draw, and post stuff here, I will be drawing all valid requests I receive, in the order they come in
  • if it feels like I haven’t gotten your request, feel free to ask me about it; either it’s on my list, or I didn’t see it because of hellsite issues and I’ll put it on my list, or there was a problem with the request and I can tell you how to fix it

This is Kiadanta! I think she is probably a clairvoyant or divinator who can track things down, such as shiny feather toys, or the deceptive and highly rude fake butterflies she sees in screens sometimes.

I’ve just been seeing so many ADORABLE cats with doing this.

Reblogging to main! Look at my good girl with her lil hat <3 thank you for drawing her!

Pronouns used in top 20 The Dragon Prince fics on AO3, sorted by bookmark. Almost an even split!

I was not expecting to see two of my fics in a graph tonight but it was certainly a fun and surprising experience! Same hat @raayllum 😅

I'm looking for recommendations on video series/documentaries/YouTube series that are good for expanding knowledge on basically anything useful for worldbuilding. This can include:

  • the lifestyles and habits of ancient cultures or modern cultures
  • Interesting historical shit
  • Blacksmithing, farming, building; basically intricate details of various trades
  • Structure and operation of historical military forces, e.g. the Roman legion
  • Region specific farming, particularly as pertains to challenging conditions like altitude, severe weather, flooding, slopes, etc
  • Ecology and evolution
  • Genetics
  • Weather and its relationship to geography
  • Basically anything tbh, worldbuilding is a wide field

YouTube channels/series particularly appreciated.

Tumblr hates links so I'm going to edit them in after I create this reblog but here's some stuff I have found:

  • @howtofightwrite : pretty self-explanatory. Fighting advice for writers.
  • @scriptmedic : a blog about writing injuries and illness. It's inactive but has plenty of information in it, go hogwild
  • Skallagrim on YouTube: He talks about various swords and bladed weapons and how they're used, including polearms.
  • Shadiversity on YouTube: Are you trying to figure out what melee weapons would work best underwater for your race of fish people? (hint: it's not tridents and spears!) Shadiversity has a video series about what weapons work best for fantasy races.
  • Modern History TV on YouTube: educational videos about life and knights in the Medieval period. Many videos are about arms and armor, demonstrating when possible, but he also talks about clothing, customs, horses, and food during that time.
  • Hello Future Me on YouTube: Good video essays on world building on a variety of topics (economics, war, fantasy racism), with good examples of how techniques are used successfully.
  • Overly Sarcastic Productions on YouTube: This is a bit of a weird recommendation not because it isn't good, but because it's technically two different YouTube channels in a trench coat. The channel has two hosts, Red and Blue. Red does video essays about tropes, classic literature, and mythology from around the world. Her much beloved ongoing video series about the novel The Journey To The West is really good, by the way, go watch it. Blue does videos about history, from the time of the Romans to the Renaissance Period. Maybe not as useful for researching specific topics, but still good learning nonetheless.
  • Extra Credits on YouTube: Covers a large variety of History and Mythology topics from around the world, (Overly Sarcastic Productions's videos are more entertaining and nicer looking in my opinion but they're only like, two people, so they can't make stuff as fast so there's less) as well as videos about game design. Better for researching specific topics. My favorite series by them is about Catherine the Great.
  • I don't really have a really great catch-all for biology or science but I do recommend on YouTube: Deep Look, Animalogic, SciShow, PBS Eons, and SciShow Space. Deep Look talks about creepy crawlies, and Animalogic has more fuzzy animals than insects. SciShow has some biology, science news, and up-to-date information on scientific developments in the fight against the virus. PBS Eons talks about prehistoric animals (not exclusively dinosaurs, which is refreshing). And Sci Show Space talks about... Space.
  • Primitive Technology is just. A dude in the jungle making things like mud bricks and huts and tools without speaking. It's very relaxing.

Extra Stuff You Didn't Ask For But I Thought You Might Like:

  • Chemistry is not on your list but NileRed on YouTube is pretty entertaining. I like watching him make stuff like bismuth and ferrofluid, and talk about how he sources and refines his ingredients. Like a cooking show. Except most of it would poison you.
  • Tier Zoo ranks animal species like video game races in an MMO. It's surprisingly educational but I'm not including it in the list proper because it's not exactly the best academic source for research. Still, it's an interesting concept and educational video, especially since animals aren't ranked on hunting prowess exclusively, but also on other factors. For example, snakes are not as high on the list as you'd think!

Uhhh that's all I can really think of. Have fun :)

These sound like super good recs, thanks! I've actually watched every single TierZoo video and think I've seen a couple videos from some of these other guys too. Definitely recommend the TierZoo channel, that's really great for learning about adaptation and ecological niches in a very accessible and amusing way.
