Ask an Expert: Learning about Problem Gambling from Researchers, Clinicians, Advocates, and People with Lived Experience is a free training opportunity consisting of 10, 1-hour continuing education (CE) credit module that offer allied health providers the opportunity to learn about problem gambling treatment. Learners can earn 1.0 hour of continuing education (CE) credit per module.

The Community Voices in Recovery course centers minoritized voices in continuing education (CE) through the art of storytelling. Storytelling holds the potential to promote empathy and understanding perspectives because it counters negative stereotypes and promotes connection on a universal human level. We use this narrative approach to help healthcare providers and allied health professionals provide optimal addiction care for minoritized patients. Minoritized treatment seekers (e.g., racial or ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those formerly incarcerated and/or homeless) are more likely to experience discrimination in healthcare. In addition, many addictive disorders are co-occurring, resulting in the need for coordinated care. This course takes a holistic approach by considering multiple substance-based and behavioral expressions of addiction, with a particular focus on problem gambling. M-TAC strongly recommends that learners complete the Primary Course Series prior to completing the Supplemental Course Series modules.

The Community Voices in Recovery - Supplemental Course Series consists of 3 individual, 1-hour modules: Addiction Among the Formerly Incarcerated, Addiction Among the LGBTQ+ Community, and Addiction Among Those Experiencing Homelessness. These modules will give you a firsthand perspective on what it is like to access healthcare with both addiction and one of these other, historically stigmatized experiences or identities. M-TAC strongly recommends that learners complete the Primary Course Series prior to completing any of the Supplemental Course Series modules to gain foundational knowledge about addiction along with specific tips and tactics for treating marginalized patients. However, unlike the Primary Course Series, you are not required to complete all 3 modules to receive continuing education (CE) credit. You may choose to complete one, two, or all three modules in this series, in any order or combination. You will receive 1.0 hour of CE credit for each Supplemental Course Series module you complete, for the potential to earn up to 3.0 hours of CE credits.

The Gambling Case Study Series is a free training consisting of 2, 1-hour continuing education modules that offer allied health providers the opportunity to learn more about the issue of problem gambling through dynamic case studies that show the rich lives of diverse individuals who have experienced gambling harm. Learners can earn one hour of continuing education (CE) credit per module.

The Worldwide Addiction Gambling Education Report (The WAGER) Microlearning Course is a free educational opportunity consisting of 6, 1-hour modules that offer allied health professionals the opportunity to learn more about gambling-related research and its implications for treatment and public health. In each module, learners will read 12 science reviews originally published by The WAGER. Learners can earn 1.0 hour of continuing education (CE) credit per module.
