My Weekend Leans...

...now that we are in Week 3 of the college football season I have a better feeling about what's happening and where everyone is going.

I decided to stay away from Michigan (-8) against Notre Dame even though the Wolverines should win this battle of true freshman quarterbacks by at least two scores. Sorry Domers, Jimmy Clausen's swing passes, as beautiful as they may be, are still swing passes to slow running backs.

I also took a pass on Alabama (-3) over Arkansas because I don't know how good 'Bama's rush defense is. That being said Arkansas' passing game is non-existent because their best quarterback is sitting on a bench with his USC teammates.

So for the three games I took.

Virginia at North Carolina (-3): Both of these middle-run ACC squads are pretty bad but Virginia is almost as bad of a road team as Duke. I like Butch Davis coming off of a road loss much more than I like Virginia going on the road anywhere. I expect the Tar Heels to win by at least a touchdown.

Mississippi State at Auburn (-12.5): Anytime you're getting MSU on the road as less than a 15-point 'dog you have to go with it. Nothing Auburn does stands out to me but they should physically dominate the Bulldogs.

Tennessee at Florida (Over 55): I see this game being a major shootout. Tennessee doesn't have the speed on defense to stop Percy Harvin, Chris Rainey or Bubba Caldwell on those bubble screens they will run. Florida's does have the speed on defense, but it's young and going in the wrong direction so Ainge should pick them apart. Expect both teams to score in the 30s if the weather is nice.

Good luck

Chicks Dig The Black & Gold...

...especially in the NFL.

Pittsburgh and Green Bay, two cities not known for....well we'll put it this way, no one mistakes Green Bay for Austin, Texas when it comes to the female population.

But in NFL circles, where a Steelers or Packers jersey and you are a chick magnet!
