Durant = Carmelo??Finally I got a chance to see Kevin Durant play last night. 37 points and 23 boards later I was left with my mouth open and wanting more.
Is this guy good enough to carry the Longhorns through the tournament like Carmelo Anthony did with Syracuse a few years ago? Durant doesn't have the great supporting cast that Anthony had (Hakim Warrick, Gerry McNamara, etc.), but he's a LOT better than Anthony was in college too.
If you see Kevin Durant on your TV screen, watch him. This kid replaces Jameer Nelson as the next good reason to watch college basketball.

Super Bowl Media Day Baby!Things to Look For at this year's Media Day:
-- Tank Johnson crying like a little bitch when the media grills him about having enough weaponry to arm Burma.
-- Peyton Manning giving repeatedly annoyed answers to the 1,482 questions about his chance to win the "big one".
-- Peyton Manning laughing when someone (probably from Comedy Central) refers to his forehead as the "big one".
-- Rex Grossman seething as the media reminds him how much he sucks.
-- Lovie Smith commenting on being the first black coach to make the Super Bowl.
-- Tony Dungy commenting on being the first black coach to make the Super Bowl after the last black coach (Lovie Smith) made the Super Bowl.
-- Adam Vinatieri and Robbie Gould comparing their calves.

About that Mid-Week All-Star Game...
...NHL drew a POWERFUL 0.7 rating, 76 % lower than the last All-Star game, which was held in 2004. So much for that influx of young talent that will crossover into the mainstream sports.
As good as Sidney Crosby is you know your sport is in trouble when three times as many people want to see whether Brad or Wes will win the Road Rules Challenge or whether Mr. Boston will make the cut on "I Love New York".
I would say the NHL could just disappear to Canada and no one would notice, but by signing a long-term TV deal with the Versus network, they've accomplished that.
