Description
Description Description
Titre de l'invention : Procédé d’habillage de pièces intérieures de véhicules, pièces habillées et véhicules associés Title of the invention: Method of dressing interior parts of vehicles, dressed parts and associated vehicles
[0001] The present invention falls within the framework of the trimmings of interior parts of motor vehicles using natural materials such as sheets of stone.
[0002] This technology, which has appeared in recent years, is described in particular in patents US 2016/0107418 (lamination of a thin layer of stone with an adhesive with a supporting layer of textile material) and of the company Hyundai Motor Company, US 6547910 from Daimler Chrysler AG and US 2004/0121089 from Hanton & Williams LLP which describes in particular the covering of an automobile part with a complex such as that mentioned above.
[0003] It involves the production of a thin mineral layer, extracted from a block of stone using an adhesive polymer deposited on this block of stone; the thin layer in question is extracted by tearing / peeling, and laminating this thin layer of stone on a flexible support layer (in textile for example).
[0004] In order to guarantee the performance of the part thus coated with the specifications (abrasion, heat resistance, UV resistance, etc.), it is necessary to deposit a layer of varnish on the surface of the layer.
[0005] The "wettability" of many natural materials, as well as that of sheet stone (such as natural stone) causes it to change its appearance, becoming darker when varnished. However, this affects the qualitative perception of the appearance of the piece, because by becoming darker, we move away from the desired appearance, namely the original appearance of the rough stone.
- US 2016/010741: “coating layer” (5): a thin film of paint (paragraphs [0042] and [0043]), - US 6547910: “transparent coating” in paragraphs [6] line 25, [9] and in claim 10 of this document.
[0007] The definition and the nature of the layers are however not specified.
[0008] The aim of the present invention is therefore to provide an at least partial solution to this problem, that is to say to keep, after the varnishing operation, the appearance as close as possible to the sheet. of raw natural stone.
To this end, the present invention uses an aqueous-based adhesion primer of the PU varnish type because it turned out, unexpectedly and surprisingly, that this is the nature of the 1 st layer (primer) which is decisive for keeping the initial appearance of the stone as much as possible.
[0010] Advantageously, additives such as pigments or natural or synthetic dyes, texturing agents, etc. can be added to "catch up" or to somehow compensate for certain original characteristics of the stone lost or attenuated during the varnishing operation (glitter appearance, roughness, etc.).
The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks.
[0012] To this end, the present invention relates to a method for dressing interior parts of vehicles, in particular motor vehicles with a thin layer of natural material, in particular an inorganic material such as stone, glass or ceramic or an organic material such as wood consisting in dressing the interior part of the vehicle by coating it with an optional adhesion layer on which is applied a support layer of the thin layer of natural material and then said thin layer of material natural proper, characterized in that a transparent water-based polyurethane (PU) primary adhesion layer is applied to said thin layer of natural material before covering the whole with at least one transparent protective surface layer, in particular one or more transparent varnish surface layers.
The invention will be better understood, thanks to the description below, which relates to a preferred embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, and explained with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings, in which: [0014] [Fig. 1] shows a side sectional view of all the layers used for implementing the method according to the invention,
[0015] [Fig. 2] is a photo showing two comparative examples of dressing.
As can be seen in Figure 1, the product obtained through the implementation of the method of covering interior parts 1 of vehicles according to the invention, in particular of motor vehicles can, for example be applied to an interior panel of a door.
Thus dressed by a thin layer 4 of natural material, in particular an inorganic material such as stone, glass or ceramic or an organic material such as wood, the interior part 1 of the vehicle by coating it with an optional (optional) adhesion layer 2 on which is applied a support layer 3 of the thin layer 4 of natural material then said thin layer 4 of natural material proper. The method is characterized in that a transparent water-based polyurethane (PU) primary adhesion layer 5 is applied to said thin layer 4 of natural material before covering the whole with at least one surface layer 6, 6. transparent protective, in particular at least one layer of varnish.
In a particular embodiment, one proceeds to a direct overmolding step of the support layer 3 with said thin layer 4 of natural material. In this case the adhesion layer 2 is not necessary.
[0019] By way of nonlimiting example, the primer adhesion layer 5 is a mono-component polyurethane pore filler product based on water and containing glycol ethers such as butoxyethanol and methoxyethanol. It is sprayed manually or automatically to a minimum thickness of 10 microns, then undergoing drying or baking with a minimum temperature of 45 ° C.
Still, by way of nonlimiting example, the transparent surface layer 6, 6 ′ can be produced with a two-component polyurethane transparent varnish, containing solvents such as butyl acetate, with a thickness of 20 microns minimum with ambient air drying. For a decorative varnish, one can take, by way of nonlimiting example, this same two-component polyurethane transparent varnish of at least equivalent thickness, applied and dried in an identical manner. Another non-limiting example is a two-component polyurethane transparent varnish to which texturizing elements have been added. Another example is a transparent two-component polyurethane varnish to which inorganic pigments have been added.
According to the present invention, the method is further characterized in that the interior part 1 of the vehicle is made of a synthetic material, such as a plastic material of the polycarbonate (PC) type, of PC-ABS, of polypropylene. (PP) or in polyurethane and polypropylene (PU + PP), in particular in PU + PP filled with glass fibers and / or natural fibers.
Advantageously, and according to a preferred embodiment, the method according to the invention is characterized in that the adhesion layer 2 is made of PUR (polyurethane) adhesive in aqueous base.
Advantageously, according to another embodiment, the method according to the invention is characterized in that the adhesion layer 2 is made of an adhesive not containing PUR (polyurethane) and of a non-aqueous solvent base .
[0025] According to another advantageous characteristic, the support layer 3 of the thin layer 4 of natural material is made of a woven or non-woven textile material and has a thickness ranging from 100 μm to 5 mm. This textile material can optionally be covered with a suitable conventional resin, well known to those skilled in the art, or not.
[0026] Advantageously, the method according to the invention is characterized in that the thin layer 4 of natural material is made of stone, glass, ceramic or wood and has a thickness ranging from 50 μm to 2 mm.
According to the present invention, the primary transparent adhesion layer 5, for example made of PU, has a thickness of at least 10 μm, preferably ranging from 10 μm to 40 μm, and more preferably a thickness ranging from 10 μm at 15 pm. Advantageously, said primary layer 5 has at least one additive which compensates for a loss of an original visual or tactile characteristic or adds an additional visual or tactile characteristic to the natural material, in particular a characteristic lost following the operation of depositing the or protective surface layers 6, 6 ', for example of varnish. Alternatively, the at least one aforementioned additive may be present in said one or more protective layers 6, 6 ′ in addition to or in place of that or those present in said primary layer 5.
[0029] According to yet another aspect, the applied protective surface layer (s) 6, 6 ′ comprises at least one layer of transparent solvent-based PU lacquer.
Advantageously, the method according to the invention is further characterized in that the layer or all of the surface layers 6, 6 'of protection, for example of varnish, has a thickness ranging from 15 μm to 300 μm. , especially 40 µm to 60 µm.
The present invention also relates to an interior part 1 of a vehicle dressed thanks to the implementation of the method according to the invention and a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle characterized in that it has at least one interior part 1 dressed thanks to the implementation of the method according to the invention.
[0032] As mentioned above, Figure 1 shows all of the layers deposited to form the trim of the interior part 1, for example a door or dashboard element of a passenger or sports car.
As can be seen in the photo of FIG. 2, the use of an adhesion sub-layer other than of an aqueous nature does not give the expected result. We see in this example the difference in appearance on a sheet where the natural material is slate which has been varnished with the same surface varnish. With the primer undercoat of aqueous varnish, in accordance with the present invention, an appearance close to that of the original rough stone is obtained, while with a solvent-based varnish the appearance is darker, which may be desired in certain cases. or on the contrary an unwanted effect. Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
