Description
Removable flap, especially for magazine cases
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention relates to a removable securing flap, in particular for firearm magazine cases.
BACKGROUND ART
At present, various types of firearm magazine cases are known.
Each of these cases must provide the user with a considerable amount of requirements, and at the same time these components are expected to be affordable and easy to operate .
One of the requirements for the firearm magazine cases is their absolute safe and easy securing of firearm magazines in the case. There are a number of solutions to this problem. In general, it is possible to say that there are securing means for very reliable securing the magazine in the case and, by contrast, there are securing means that meet this function only to some extent.
Both of these extreme technical solutions have their advantages and disadvantages, and they are accordingly also popular by some users or not.
Many of them are designed that the magazine is firmly enclosed in the case. Such technical measures generally secure the magazine against its loss or dropping out from the case and they also offer the user the certainty that the magazine will not be lost.
On the other hand, the mentioned technical solution significantly reduces the speed of the magazine handling in relation to the case, while a quick removal and subsequent use of the magazine can have crucial consequences in fight.
Therefore, other technical solutions are also offered, for example according to the Czech utility models number 29 807 and 29 598, which offer a significant degree of security of the magazines in the case, but they are focused above all on ensuring a high speed and ease of handling the magazine and its fast use.
In any case, each case for firearm magazines exhibits still only one securing of the magazine in the case, either completely rigid or easily controllable, without the ability to change or combine easily this art of embedding of magazines in the case.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The above shortcomings of the existing solutions of magazine cases are considerably removed and the specific requirements placed on these cases in combat conditions are met by an additional removable flap which consists of an elongated body of the flap, the front section of which is provided with at least one securing means for magazines in the magazine case, and the rear section of which is provided with at least one an anchoring means for attaching the flap to the rear section of the magazine case .
The securing means for magazines in the magazine case may be any of known means for a dismountable connection of case parts for firearm magazines but a preferred embodiment is a Velcro fastener or a security member, which may be advantageous a buckle or a riveting push button.
The anchoring means for attaching the removable flap to the rear section of the magazine case is at least one aperture for strapping or at least one anchoring hook. The strapping aperture may advantageously be reinforced by folding the rear section of the removable flap. The circumference of the aperture for the strapping is secured against thread frying, namely either by coating or by a heat treatment of the entire perimeter of this aperture.
The magazine cases are in most cases connected to the operator's body through straps forming the connection of the magazines with the webbing structure of a safety vest or with the user's belt. This means that the most of firearm magazines are equipped with straps on which the removable securing flap according to the technical solution can be attached at any time through apertures that are provided at the rear section of the removable flap or by means of hooks being fixed there.
In a preferred embodiment, a recess - preferably V-shaped - is formed on the rear section of the removable flap between anchorages of the anchoring hooks which facilitates the fitting of two hooks on the rear section of the removable flap.
This makes it possible without any modifications to the existing solutions for firearm magazine cases to easily attach another accoutrement element to the case by inserting a strap through the aperture in the rear section of the removable flap, which accoutrement element significantly increases the security of these magazines in the case, particularly as far as some sorts of magazine cases are concerned.
In addition, if it is important to increase the operability and speed of use of the magazine, the removable flap is easily removable, and even in the event of its loss there will be no serious detriment, since the military unit may have sufficient stock of such removable flaps, because it is a very simple and inexpensive product.
In a variant embodiment, the removable flap can be attached to the case strap of the magazine by means of a hook that is attached to the rear section of the removable flap. This solution greatly contributes to the operational deployment of the removable flap, without necessity to remove the magazine case from the protective vest or belt, as is the case with the variant consists in the attachment of the removable flap through inserting straps through the apertures at the rear section of the removable flap.

Fig. 16 represents a removable flap used by the narrow magazine case according to Fig. 14, and the arrow indicates how to remove the removable flap.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The additional removable flap consists of an elongate body 1 which is preferably formed of a special fabric which is commonly used to manufacture textile firearm magazine cases or protective vests for combat activities. On the front section 2 of the removable flap, means for attaching the removable flap to the case _4 of the magazine 5_ are provided, which may be formed by any of generally used means for dismountable closing cases for magazines.
For this purpose, buckles, riveting push buttons or buttons can be used, but with regard to the possibility to be used by users whose dimensions are not the same, it is advantageous to use a Velcro fastener 6 for this purpose.
Alternatively, the front section 2 of the removable flap may be provided with a loop 12 and a securing member 1_, which may be, for example, a buckle or a riveting push button.
At least one aperture 8_ is formed at the rear section 3 of the removable flap for inserting the removable flap on a strap _9 which serves to attach the case _4 of the magazine .5 to a protective vest, belt or other garment component of an operator.
In the case of narrow magazines 5 as shown in Fig. 14 to Fig. 16, only one aperture 8_ for one strap ,9 will be used on the removable flap, but in the case of heavier and wider magazines 5_ as shown in Fig. 4 to Fig. 6, even two apertures 8_ may be placed next to one another, through which two straps will be inserted 9.
The release of the removable flap is indicated by the bottom arrows 16_ in Fig. 5 and Fig. 15, and the possibility of the complete removal of the removable flap is depicted by upper arrows 1_5 in Fig. 6 and Fig. 16.
In a preferred embodiment, the removable flap is in its rear section 3^ reinforced. This reinforcement may be made as a lining by another material, but is preferably made by a fold 1_1_ of the rear section 3_ of the removable flap and sewing this fold with the body 1 of the removable flap.
The circumference of the individual apertures 8_ for the straps 9 is secured against thread fraying either by coating or a heat treatment of the entire perimeter of the aperture. The dimensions of the aperture must meet the requirements for easy inserting of straps _9 that are commonly used by protective vests.
In the second variant of the technical solution, at least one hook 10 for inserting the strap 9 is attached on the rear section 3 of the removable flap which serves to secure the case 4_ of the magazine 5 to the protective vest, belt or other garment component of the operator and, simultaneously to the attachment of the removable flap to the rear section 3 of the case 4_ of the magazine 5. The hook 10 is on its open side provided with a tooth 13_ which facilitates the positioning and securing of the strap 9 in the correct position relative to the hook 10.
This solution makes it easy and quick to remove the removable flap if need required also from the rear section of the case 4_ of the magazine _5, and the housing 4_ may remain attached to a protective vest or belt. This solution is shown in Fig. 11 to Fig. 13.
In the case of a heavier and wider magazine, it is possible to use two hooks 1_0 as it is shown in Fig. 1 to 3. The side arrows 14_ in Fig. 2 and 12 show the ease of releasing the removable flap and the top arrows _15 show already the possibility of a complete removal of the removable the flap from the position where it secures the magazine in the case.
In this embodiment of the removable flap in which two hooks 10 are used, it is advantageous to provide the rear part 3 of the removable flap in the region between the anchorages of the hooks 1_0 with a recess 17_ for their attachment, which recess may be in a preferred embodiment of the V-shape.
The magazine cases are in most cases attached to the body of the operator through the straps that make up the connection of the magazines with the strap webbing structure of the user's protective vest. This means that most of the firearm magazine cases are equipped with straps on which the removable securing flap according to the technical solution can be attached at any time through apertures that are implemented at the rear section of the removable flap.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
The technical solution of the removable securing flap, especially for firearm magazine cases is well usable in all cases of the cases where the operator feels that the securing the magazine should be permanently or temporarily supported by another fixed securing element which is at the same time removable and can therefore be simply at any time released and finally disconnected.
This solution is best used within a tactical environment or even in a combat, but it can be also be used in sport shooting activities or in the training of any armed forces.
