Abstract
Description
保護板を有する表示パネルを備えた従来の電子機器としては、例えば、特許文献1,2に開示されるものがある。
特許文献1に記載の電子機器は、表示パネルを機器本体に組み付けときに、表示パネルに貼り付けられた保護板を保持する特別な構造は有していない。
また、特許文献2に記載の電子機器は、表示パネルを組み付けるための開口部を有した意匠筐体ケースと、開口部の周縁に内向きに張り出すように形成された段差部とを備えており、表示パネルに貼り付けられた保護板の外周部を上記段差部に接着して保持する。
また、特許文献2に代表される従来の技術は、保護板の外周部が意匠筐体ケースの段差部に接着されて強度は確保されるが、外部からの衝撃を直に受ける意匠筐体ケースであるにもかかわらず、意匠筐体ケースが破損してもリワークが困難である。
実施の形態1.
図1は、保護板付きの表示部を有する電子機器を示す正面図である。図1に示す電子機器1は、液晶表示部を備えたスマートフォンやPND(Portable Navigation Device)などの携帯用の電子機器である。電子機器1の表示面側ケース2には、液晶表示パネルを保護するための保護板3が取り付けられる。保護板3には、表示画面3aに対応する領域と、非透光性の着色で裏面が印刷された表示画面3aの周囲の枠状領域3bが形成されている。
表示面側ケース2は、電子機器1’の表示面側の筐体を構成するフレーム状の意匠筐体であり、液晶表示パネル4の表示面側に取り付ける保護板3が配置されている。この表示面側ケース2および裏面側ケース8が電子機器1’の筐体本体となる。
液晶表示パネル4は、表示面側と裏面側の透明基板で液晶層を狭持し、液晶層に電界を印加する電極構造、カラーフィルタ、偏光板などで構成され、裏面側からバックライト光を照射されて画像を表示する。また、液晶表示パネル4は、表示面側が透明粘着シートにより保護板3に貼り付けられ、裏面側の外周部がバックライト保持用フレーム5’のフランジ部5aに接着固定される。
バックライト保持用フレーム5’をバックライト保持用ケース7の開口部に取り付けると、フランジ部5aが、バックライト保持用ケース7との間で導光板6を狭持して保持する。なお、導光板6や各種の光学シート、光源などを含む照明光源部(導光板6以外は不図示)は、バックライト保持用フレーム5’とバックライト保持用ケース7からなる保持筐体に収納される。
図3に示す従来の電子機器1’では、特許文献1のように液晶表示パネル4を機器本体に組み付けときに保護板3を保持する特別な構造は有していない。すなわち、保護板3の表示面側からその外周部(枠状領域3b)に所定以上の荷重が印加されると、保護板3が変形し、表示ムラが発生する可能性がある。
すなわち、この電子機器1’では、特許文献2のように、液晶表示パネル4を機器本体に組み付けときに、表示面側ケース2の段差部2Aによって保護板3の外周部が裏面から保持される。この構成では、外部からの荷重に対する保護板3の強度は確保されるが、表示面側ケース2が破損しても保護板3が接着されているため、リワークが困難である。
図5は、この発明の実施の形態1に係る電子機器の構成を示す分解斜視図であり、実施の形態1に係る電子機器の構成を概略的に示している。図6は、実施の形態1に係る電子機器における保護板の保持構造を示す断面図であり、図1のA-A線で図5の電子機器を切った矢印方向の断面を示している。図5に示す電子機器1は、表示面側ケース2、液晶表示パネル4、モールドフレーム5、導光板6、バックライト保持用ケース7および裏面側ケース8を備える。モールドフレーム5以外の構成は、図2と同様である。
モールドフレーム5をバックライト保持用ケース7の開口部に取り付けることにより、従来と同様に、フランジ部5aが、バックライト保持用ケース7との間で導光板6を狭持して保持する。また、フランジ部5bは、保護板3の枠状領域3bに沿ってフレーム開口の周縁の外向きに張り出した形状を有しており、固定テープ3A-2により枠状領域3bに貼り付けられて保護板3の外周部を裏面から保持する。
また、フランジ部5bによって保護板3の外周部(枠状領域3b)の剛性を上げることができ、外力を受けた保護板3の変形による表示ムラを防ぐこともできる。
保護板3の外周部にフランジ部5bを貼り付けるので、保護板3の枠状領域3bと表示面側ケース2との隙間から入った塵埃が液晶表示パネル4側に流入することを防止できる。
さらに、本発明は、表示面側ケース2および裏面側ケース8に変更を加えていないため、表示面側ケース2または裏面側ケース8に傷付きが発生しても、容易にリワークすることができる。
図7は、実施の形態1に係る電子機器における保護板の保持構造を示す断面図であり、図1のA-A線で遮光性のフランジ部5bを有した電子機器を切った矢印方向の断面を示している。図7において、モールドフレーム5Aは、黒色樹脂などの非透光性部材で形成されており、固定テープ3A-2でフランジ部5bを保護板3の枠状領域3b(黒色裏面印刷領域)に貼り付ける。このように構成することで、導光板6から液晶表示パネル4へ照射される光が、保護板3の枠状領域3bと表示面側ケース2との隙間から漏れることを防止できる。
図8は、実施の形態1に係る電子機器における保護板の保持構造を示す断面図であり、図1のA-A線で位置決め構造を有した電子機器を切った矢印方向の断面を示している。図8に示すモールドフレーム5Bは、フランジ部5bの裏面に位置決め用ボス5eが形成されている。また、表示面側ケース2の開口部に内向きに張り出した板状部材を形成し、この板状部材に位置決め用孔部2aを形成しておく。
Claims (5)
- 一面が開口し、導光体を含む照明光源部を収納するケースと、フレーム開口の周縁に内向きに張り出した第1のフランジ部が形成されており、前記ケースの開口部に取り付けられて、前記第1のフランジ部が前記ケースとの間で前記導光体を狭持するフレームとを有する保持筐体と、
前記フレームの第1のフランジ部に外周部が固定され、前記導光体により導光された光源からの光で背面側が照明される液晶表示パネルと、
前記液晶表示パネルの表示面側に取り付けられる保護板とを備える電子機器において、
前記フレームは、
前記フレーム開口の周縁の外向きに張り出して形成され、前記保護板の外周部を裏面側から保持する第2のフランジ部を備えることを特徴とする電子機器。 - 前記第2のフランジ部を補強する補強用リブを備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の電子機器。
- 前記フレームは、非透光性部材で形成されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の電子機器。
- 前記第2のフランジ部は、前記保護板の側面からの漏れ光を遮光する遮光壁部を備えることを特徴とする請求項3記載の電子機器。
- 前記第2のフランジ部は、前記保持筐体を筐体本体に組み付けた状態で、前記筐体本体に設けた係合部と係合することにより、前記保持筐体の筐体本体に対する位置決めを行う位置決め用係合部を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の電子機器。
