Abstract
Description
この電子機器には、ディスプレイと、ディスプレイよりも大きいパネルが設けられ、パネルはディスプレイの前面に透明接着剤を介して固定されている。パネルのディスプレイからはみ出ている部分は、ディスプレイの後方に設けられた支持部の前面に接着剤を介して固定されている。
前記カバーパネルの後方に向く後面に、前記カバーパネルよりも剛性の高い枠形状の補強部材が固定され、前記補強部材で囲まれた領域で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記表示セルが固定されていることを特徴とするものである。
前記補強部材と前記バックライト装置の少なくとも一方が、前記バックライト装置よりも後方に位置する後方支持部材に固定されているものが好ましい。
(a)前記カバーパネルの後方に向く後面に、前記カバーパネルよりも剛性の高い枠形状の補強部材を固定する行程と、
(b)前記(a)の行程の後に、前記補強部材で囲まれた領域で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記表示セルを固定する行程と、
を有することを特徴とするものである。
(c)前記(b)の行程の後で、前記表示セルの後方に位置するバックライト装置を前記補強部材に固定する行程と、
(d)前記補強部材と前記バックライト装置の少なくとも一方を、前記バックライト装置よりも後方に位置する後方支持部材に固定する行程と、
を有することが好ましい。
前記(a)の工程では、前記屈曲部またはその近傍、あるいは前記湾曲部の少なくとも一部あるいは前記湾曲部の近傍で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記補強部材を固定するものとして構成できる。
表示装置1は、まず表示パネル組立体10を組立て、その後に表示パネル組立体10を後方支持部材2に固定する。表示パネル組立体10の組立では、カバーパネル20の後面に、補強部材30を、接着剤層38を介して接着固定する。この行程では、成型時の歪などによりカバーパネル20の単体における平面度の誤差や開き角度αの誤差が大きかったとしても、カバーパネル20をそれよりも剛性の高い補強部材30に接着することで、カバーパネル20を、その形状を矯正しつつ補強部材30に接着固定することができ、カバーパネル20を補強部材30の形状に合わせた立体形状にできる。そのため、接着後は、カバーパネル20の第1平面部21と第2平面部22の平面度を高く維持でき、図5に示されている第1平面部21と第2平面部22の開き角度αを高精度に維持することができる。

Claims (8)
- 表示セルと、前記表示セルの表示方向である前方を覆う透光性のカバーパネルと、が設けられた表示装置において、
前記カバーパネルの後方に向く後面に、前記カバーパネルよりも剛性の高い枠形状の補強部材が固定され、前記補強部材で囲まれた領域で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記表示セルが固定されていることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記表示セルの後方に位置するバックライト装置が設けられて、前記バックライト装置が前記補強部材に固定されており、
前記補強部材と前記バックライト装置の少なくとも一方が、前記バックライト装置よりも後方に位置する後方支持部材に固定されている請求項1記載の表示装置。 - 前記カバーパネルは、屈曲部または湾曲部を有しており、前記屈曲部またはその近傍、あるいは前記湾曲部の少なくとも一部あるいは前記湾曲部の近傍で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記補強部材が固定されている請求項1または2記載の表示装置。
- 前記補強部材には、枠形状の内部を仕切る仕切り部が設けられており、前記仕切り部の少なくとも一部が、前記カバーパネルの後面に固定されている請求項3記載の表示装置。
- 前記仕切り部には、前記屈曲部または前記湾曲部の曲げ方向に沿って延び後方へ突出する複数のリブが設けられており、それぞれの前記リブの後方に向く端部の少なくとも一部が前記後方支持部材に固定されている請求項4記載の表示装置。
- 表示セルと、前記表示セルの表示方向である前方を覆う透光性のカバーパネルと、が設けられた表示装置の組立方法において、
(a)前記カバーパネルの後方に向く後面に、前記カバーパネルよりも剛性の高い枠形状の補強部材を固定する行程と、
(b)前記(a)の行程の後に、前記補強部材で囲まれた領域で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記表示セルを固定する行程と、
を有することを特徴とする表示装置の組立方法。 - (c)前記(b)の行程の後で、前記表示セルの後方に位置するバックライト装置を前記補強部材に固定する行程と、
(d)前記補強部材と前記バックライト装置の少なくとも一方を、前記バックライト装置よりも後方に位置する後方支持部材に固定する行程と、
を有する請求項6記載の表示装置の組立方法。 - 前記カバーパネルは、屈曲部または湾曲部を有しており、
前記(a)の工程では、前記屈曲部またはその近傍、あるいは前記湾曲部の少なくとも一部あるいは前記湾曲部の近傍で、前記カバーパネルの後面に前記補強部材を固定する請求項6または7記載の表示装置の組立方法。
