Abstract
The present invention relates to an L-ornithine-producing microorganism, in which the gluconate kinase (GntK) activity is weakened relative to an intrinsic activity thereof, and to a method for producing L-ornithine from the L-ornithine-producing microorganism. According to the present invention, L-ornithine can be produced at a high yield rate and with high efficiency, and the thus-produced L-ornithine can be effectively used in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, the food industry, the feed industry, the chemical industry, etc.
