Definitions
- the present invention relates to a ferrule-equipped optical fiber production apparatus for producing an optical fiber with a ferrule by attaching a ferrule made of a transparent resin having an adhesive-filled recess for projecting an optical fiber tip from an inner surface thereof to the optical fiber.
- the present invention relates to an optical fiber manufacturing apparatus with a ferrule that enables an optical fiber to be bonded and fixed in a state where its front end surface is correctly pressed against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess.
- the outer surface of the transparent resin ferrule is inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber hole.
- an optical connector that forms an inclined surface and uses the inclined surface as an internal reflection surface for optical path conversion (see Patent Document 1 below).
- an optical connector that changes the optical path by internal reflection, it has an optical fiber hole that does not penetrate to the outside, but the tip of the optical fiber is positioned near the internal reflection surface of the ferrule so that the position of the tip surface of the optical fiber is accurately positioned. It is appropriate to abut against the wall surface of the internal space formed on (wall surface having an angle with respect to the internal reflection surface). In this case, an adhesive filling recess is formed in the vicinity of the internal reflection surface, the tip of the optical fiber hole is opened in this adhesive filling recess, and the optical fiber is abutted against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess. Is appropriate.
- the optical connector has a ferrule made of transparent resin, and its tip surface is abutted with the tip surface of another optical connector, so that the optical fiber built in the other optical connector and the optical fiber built in itself are separated.
- optical connectors that are arranged on substantially the same straight line and optically connect.
- This optical connector also has an optical fiber hole that does not penetrate to the outside, and the adhesive formed on the tip of the optical fiber in the vicinity of the tip of the ferrule so that the tip of the optical fiber is positioned accurately It is appropriate to abut against the front wall of the filling recess.
- the adhesive in the state where the optical fiber is abutted against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess and filled with the adhesive, for example, if it is a thermosetting adhesive, the adhesive is cured by heating.
- a special apparatus in the process of such adhesive heat curing, a special apparatus is not considered, simply heating the optical fiber after abutting against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess.
- the front end of the optical fiber is abutted against the front wall surface of the adhesive-filled recess, and once the position of the front end surface of the optical fiber is accurately positioned, the subsequent operation or the adhesive is cured.
- the tip surface of the optical fiber may be separated from the front wall surface of the adhesive-filled recess, or the tip of the optical fiber may move on the front wall surface (move along the front wall surface). If the tip surface of the optical fiber moves away from the front wall surface of the adhesive-filled recess, or the optical fiber tip position deviates from the ideal position on the front wall surface, the optical fiber tip surface position deviates from the set position, and the optical fiber Optical loss in optical connection with the optical element increases.
- the present invention has been made based on the above background, and can be bonded and fixed in a state where the optical fiber is correctly pressed against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess of the transparent ferrule.
- a ferrule capable of accurately positioning in the longitudinal direction of the fiber and preventing displacement on the front wall surface of the optical fiber tip position (displacement in the direction along the front wall surface), and preventing light loss due to positional displacement of the optical fiber tip surface
- An object of the present invention is to provide an attached optical fiber manufacturing apparatus.
- An optical fiber manufacturing apparatus with a ferrule is provided in the adhesive filling recess of a transparent resin ferrule having an adhesive filling recess that protrudes the inner end of an optical fiber positioned by a positioning portion.
- the adhesive is cured by the adhesive curing unit in a state where the adhesive is filled and the optical fiber is positioned by the positioning unit and the tip is pressed against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess.

- the optical fiber holding portion includes: an optical fiber clamp that is slidable in a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber in a state in which the optical fiber is clamped; a biasing portion that biases the optical fiber clamp forward; A lock portion that locks the optical fiber clamp in a position retracted against the reaction force of the biasing portion.
- the optical fiber clamp can be opened and closed by a clamp body on which the optical fiber is mounted and slidable in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber, and a hinge on the clamp body.
- a structure provided with a lid that is attached and clamps the optical fiber may be adopted.
- the ferrule-equipped optical fiber manufacturing apparatus employs a configuration in which the adhesive is a thermosetting adhesive, and the adhesive curing portion is a hot plate that also serves as the ferrule placement portion. May be.
- the optical fiber clamp is retracted against the reaction force of the urging portion and locked in the retracted position.
- the ferrule of the optical fiber with a ferrule that is not cured of the adhesive is placed on the ferrule mounting portion, and the optical fiber is clamped and held by an optical fiber clamp.
- the optical fiber clamp locked in the retracted position is released, the optical fiber clamp is urged by the force of the spring and moves forward with the optical fiber clamped, and the tip of the optical fiber is in contact with the adhesive filling recess of the ferrule. It hits the front wall of the place.
- the optical fiber is kept pressed against the front wall surface of the adhesive filling recess by the force of the spring. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the front end surface of the optical fiber from being separated from the front wall surface of the adhesive-filled recess in the subsequent operation or in the process in which the adhesive is cured and contracted. Moreover, since the tip position of the optical fiber is anchored to the wall surface by being pressed against the wall surface, it is possible to prevent displacement on the front wall surface (shift in the direction along the front wall surface). In this way, the optical fiber is bonded and fixed correctly while being pressed against the front wall surface of the adhesive-filled recess.
