Abstract

膨張時にエアバッグ（１０）の正面（１１）と背面（１２）と左右の側面（１３Ｌ，１３Ｒ）と天井面（１４）と底面（１５）とから立体形状を成し、正面（１１）と背面（１２）とが、上底を下底よりも広くした台形状に形成されており、正面（１１）の上縁は背面（１２）の上縁よりも幅広に形成される。側面衝突時にシート（２０Ｌ，２０Ｒ）間で広がり、その際乗員（Ｐ）に対向するエアバッグ面が乗員側へ倒れ込むような傾斜した状態で膨張することで、乗員（Ｐ）が衝突側に移動する際に、乗員の肩が当たると同時或いはほぼ同時に頭部を当てることができる。側面衝突時に、側面衝突の衝撃による乗員の横方向への移動をブロックするようにしたエアバッグを提供することができる。
