Abstract

 所定の画質改善用の映像信号処理を行う際に、動きベクトルの検出精度に起因した画質劣化を抑えることが可能な画像表示装置を提供する。動きベクトル検出部44による動きベクトルmvの検出の際の信頼度Reliabilityを考慮して、補間部45、撮像ボケ抑制処理部13およびオーバードライブ処理部10における映像信号処理を行う。具体的には、信頼度Reliabilityが大きくなるのに応じて、映像信号処理の際の処理量が大きくなるように設定する一方、信頼度Reliabilityが小さくなるのに応じて、映像信号処理の際の処理量が小さくなるように設定する。映像信号処理を動きベクトルを用いて行う場合において、動きベクトルの探索範囲(ブロックマッチングを行う範囲)を超えてしまったときなどにおいても、動きベクトルの検出精度に応じた映像信号処理が可能となる。
