Abstract

Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Axialwellendichtung mit einer Gegenlauffläche eines Gleitpartners, an der unter Vorspannung die Dichtfläche mindestens eines Dichtelements als Primärdichtung anliegt, mit einem konstruktiv einfachen Aufbau vorzustellen, die auch bei Beaufschlagung mit hohen Drücken sicher abdichtet, sowie Dichtelemente zur Verwendung in einer solchen Axialwellendichtung. Erfindungsgemäß wird deshalb vorgeschlagen, dass die axiale Abdichtung durch Eigenvorspannung einer zumindest im Dichtbereich ringscheibenförmigen, elastisch verformten Primärdichtung (12) als Dichtelement erfolgt.
