Abstract

The invention relates to a steam iron (1) consisting of a heatable soleplate (2), a steam chamber (3), a multi-functional part (8) which forms both a heat shield and the skirt (85) of the iron. The invention is characterised in that the aforementioned multi-functional part (8) forms and houses the steam chamber (3) above the soleplate (2). Preferably, said mult-functional part (8) also forms the base of a water container (4).

Par ailleurs on connaît le brevet FR2770077 qui décrit une chaudière pour appareil électroménager comportant un corps en matière plastique avec un fond métallique chauffant plat muni d'un élément chauffant. Mais le corps en plastique de cette chaudière n'a pas plusieurs fonctions, ce qui diminue sensiblement l'intérêt de cette réalisation. Les fers connus nécessitent des pièces de fermeture de la chambre de vaporisation et des pièces de liaison entre le réservoir d'eau et cette chambre. De plus la construction ne permet pas la réalisation simple de fers à vapeur dont la semelle est obtenue à partir de tôles métalliques, sans brasage et sans mettre en œuvre des moyens lourds de moulage métalliques. Des goujons non représentés sont soudés sur la plaque supérieure 212 pour permettre le serrage des pièces 8 et 41 contre la semelle. Une coiffe composée d'une plaque 22 en aluminium ou en acier inoxydable est assemblée mécaniquement et thermiquement sous la plaque inférieure 213, la plaque 22 étant destinée à être en contact avec le linge à repasser. La face supérieure de la plaque 212 transfère sa chaleur à l'eau en provenance d'un goutte à goutte 6 et l'évaporé.
