Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé de correction extra-vasculaire du mauvais fonctionnement des valvules de veines, lequel procédé consiste à exposer la portion atteinte de la veine, à la mobiliser dans la région située autour de la valvule fonctionnant mal, et à rétrécir la lumière de la veine à l'aide d'un correcteur se fixant sur ladite portion de la veine dans la région de la valvule fonctionnant mal. Ce correcteur est fait d'un matériau possédant des qualités de mémorisation des formes et une grande élasticité, et consistant en un alliage de nickel et de titane. Avant d'être placé sur la veine, le correcteur est soumis à un déformation plastique à une température inférieure à celle de l'implantation afin de lui donner une forme qui facilite son installation sur la veine. Le correcteur est ensuite installé sur la veine en réduisant le diamètre intérieur de cette dernière perpendiculairement à la ligne de contact des deux bords libres des ailettes de la valvule. Ce correcteur extra-vasculaire, destiné à rétablir le bon fonctionnement des valvules des veines, comprend une structure se présentant sous la forme d'un cylindre creux elliptique fermé ou ouvert sur sa surface formatrice. On utilise en qualité de matériau pour la structure du correcteur, un alliage de nickel et de titane possédant des qualités de mémorisation des formes et une grande élasticité. La structure du correcteur en forme de cylindre creux et elliptique peut prendre la forme d'une spirale, ou d'une quasi-sinusoïdale, faite d'un fil métallique ou d'une feuille perforée d'une manière particulière.
