To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that we, ALBERT THIERRY and HERMAN F. SCHOENFIELD, citizens of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window-Cleaners, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention consists in a window cleaning brush having a water supply pipe for delivering a supply of water to' the brush in cleaning the window; further, in the peculiar construction of the swiveled joint connecting the brush head and Water supply pipe, and, further, in the peculiar construction, arrangement and combination of the various parts, all as more fully hereinafter described.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of our improved device, showing in full and dotted lines different positions of the brush'head. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the brush-head. Fig. 3 is a detached perspective view of the parts of the swivel-joint. Fig. 4 is a vertical central section across the brush-head andthrough the swivel-joint.

Our invention comprises a brush head-A adapted for window cleaning, and a water supply pipe for conveying and distributing the water to the brush so that there will be a supply of clean water at all times. This water supply is through the handle B which is made tubular in order for the water to pass through to the brush head. The handle Bis connected to any suitable water supply.

The construction we prefer is shown in Fig. 1 comprising the tubular handle, having the hollow disk D at the top, provided with a central pin D and a complementary hollow disk E adapted to engage with the disk D to form a swivel joint. The disk E is provided with a central aperture through which the pin D passes, the parts being clamped together by a winged nut G.

On the disk E is a discharge nipple H, which connects centrally into the distributing head I apertured along the top; also devices for securing the brush head thereto, such as the apertured head J adapted to be screwed on the brush head.

Onto the rear face of the distributing head is secured the deflecting plate K extending upwardly and forwardly over the brush head, against which the water from the distributing head strikes andv is deflected against the window or into the brush, according to the force of the stream, and this may be regulated by the valve M. In the under side of the brush head is the rubber strip N, which acts as a rubber or drier, and which may be used by turning the'brush' head on the swivel, as I shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1.

O is a funnel to catch the water to prevent its following down the handle, upon the hands of the operator.

What we claim as our invention is 1. The combination with a brush head and its handle of a hollow swiveled joint, comprising the sections D and E, a clamping belt for holding them together in any adjusted position, the nipple H on the section E, the bracket J on said section, the apertured distributing head I into which the nipple H connects centrally, the deflector plate K and the supply pipe connecting into the swiveled joint, substantially as described.

2. A window cleaner consisting of a brush 7 head having a projecting rubber strip on its under edge, a tubular handle, a hollow swivel joint between the tubular handle and head, means at the joint for fixedly securing the handle in its adjusted position, a branch ALBERT THIERRY.
