UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SIMON DANOYGER, OF DAYTON, OHIO.
MARKI N G-TAG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 486,208, dated November 15, 1892.
Application filed April 2, 1890. Serial No. 346,256- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.- The marking-tag consists of a strip of pa- 35 Be it known that I, SIMON DANCYGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in suspending Marking-Tags; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accom panying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in suspending marking-tags, and which is an improvement on Patent No. 379,054, of date March 6, 1888, and Patent No. 435,406, granted September 2, 1890, Serial No. 339,036, said improvement consisting in the attachment of a hook for suspending the article of merchandise to which the tag may be attached.
The object is to make the device serve a double purpose: that of recording the price, number, 850., and the suspending of the article of merchandise for the purpose of display to which the same may be attached. I accomplish the object by the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure I is a front View of the device with a part of the hook omitted. Fig. II is a side view of the same with the hook complete.
In the two views like letters and numerals designate like parts.
per, part A having orifices 1 and 2, part B, on the back of which is recorded the number, size, price, (Km, and the fold 0, within which is held the base of the wire clasp 3. Between the parts A and B is placed the fabric, and the point of the clasp is passed through and bent down on the former part, as shown at Fig. 1. To the partAis attached the metallic hook D by the eyelet 4 or by other suitable means.
When an article of merchandise is secured within the tag, the same may be suspended by hanging the hook over a cord or wire overhead, and thus display the article.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
Ihe suspending marking-tag comprising the folded parts A and B, the clasp 3, secured within the latter near the end, and the me tallic hook D, secured to the former part near the end opposite of said clasp and said hook curved in the direction of said clasp, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as 6 my own I affix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
SIMON DAYNCYGER.
