Application December 15, 1942, Serial No. 469,084
1 Claim.
This invention relates to dolls wigs.
More particularly this invention relates to dolls and animal toys embodying relatively soft head parts with detachable wigs and means for facilitating the attaching and detaching of the same.
Stuffed dolls and toys are now being made to incorporate removable outer coverings in order that the same may be permanently kept in a sanitary condition. This feature not only greatly lengthens the life of the (1011, but a doll of this type may in this way have as many varied outer appearances as outer coverings. Wigs may be added to greatly enhance such stuiied dolls and toys.
Dolls Wigs, heretofore, have been permanently fixed to the head of relatively hard material of the doll or toy as by gluing, sewing, etc., depending on the material of which the head is made. It is one of the objects of my invention to afford a doll having a head of relatively soft material which may have a wardrobe of wigs and a means of easily removing such wigs for cleaning purposes.
An object of this invention is to provide a detachable wig for a doll having a head of relatively soft material in order that such wigs may be individually washed or dry-cleaned or replaced.
An object is to provide an economical means of replaceably attaching wigs and for readily providing a doll having a head of relatively soft material with a variation of wigs.
Further features and objects of the invention will be more fully understood from the following detail description and the accompanying drawing, in which the figure is a perspective view of another embodiment of my invention.
Dolls wigs may be made of any suitable material ranging from expensive hair or silk strands to wigs made of yarn, cut strips of cloth, stockings, and the like, depending upon the desired cost and type of doll of which it is to be a part.
The figure shows a head [4 of a stuffed doll which has a Wig l5 attached thereto. Head I4 is shown provided with loops I6 of any suitable material which may be secured by stitching or the like. The under side of wig I5 may be provided with cord, tape, ribbon or like material I! disposed at appropriate and readily accessible locations cooperating with loops I6 for securing such wigs I5 and the like to the head of the doll.
Whereas I have described my invention by reference to specific forms thereof, it will be understood that many changes and modifications may be made provided they do not depart from the scope of the claim.
I claim:
A doll or toy having a head of relatively soft material, a plurality of mutually spaced flexible tying fastening means secured exteriorly of the upper portion of said head, a wig, and a plurality of tying means disposed interiorly of said wig and arranged respectively to cooperate with said tying fastening means of said head.
