This invention relates to a combination dress and apron, and its object is to provide a dress with a protecting apron ordinarily of the same kind of goods,v to give a uniform appearance, which is secured to the dress but which may be detached therefrom, enabling the .dress to -be worn without the apronwithout materially altering' the appearance of the dress.
The'. apron is also of such a nature as to enable it to be separately worn with other dresses if that is desired. Other objects ofthe invention will be ap parent as the description proceeds. An embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings in which the same reference numeral is applied toV the same portion throughout the several figures of the drawings andof which there may be modifications.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the dress and apron as shown secured together, Figure 2 is a back view of the dress and apron showing the back of the apron collar and'the apron strings, and,

The numeral 1 indicates the body ofthe dress-and its pattern may be of any' .desired form. At the top of the dress it has an opening through which the head may be passed, and it r's .provided with short sleeves The apron has a lower portion and it has a bib -portion' with 'an opening through which..the head can be passed, and saidbib is secured to the yoke portion'of the dress by means of three snaps fasteners 6, 7 and 8, the dress having similar receiving fasteners placed thereon'.
. The apron is provided with two strings 9 and 10 of the usual kind, and it also has two snap fasteners 11 at opposite corners, which cooperate with snap fasteners 12 at the side dress and within each one there is a snap from that of the dress., All of .the fasteners on the f dress of which there may be iive` or more if desired, cooperate withv the fasteners on the apron so as tocause'the apron to lie flat andv snug againstthe dress when it is worn.
'The apron strings are for the purpose of securing the apron to the body of the wearer when vother .dresses than' the present dress are used, in which event the fasteners 11 are out of use.
.The numeral indicates a dress of substantially ythe same character as that shown at 1 in the other gures, except that the dress has two pockets 21 and 22. These pockets are positioned atv the side of the fastener 23. The apron 24; is provided with the tapes 25 and 26 to go around the back, but in addition it is provided with short tapes 27 to 32 inclusive, each of which is provided witha snap fastener as indicated at 33 on the tape 28. These short tapes are tucked over into thepocket to connectwith 'the fasteners 23 sewed within the pocket,
while the tapes 29 to 32 are to enga e `snap fasteners on the underside of t e yoke of the dress, all four of said fasteners being normally concealed from view. J l -Theapron strings 25 and 26 may be tied around the back of the dress in the usual manner whenever that-is desired.
