so all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1 LESLIE G. -WISWELL, a citizen of the United States of America and resident of Chicago, Illinois, have iurented a certain new and useful Improvement in Record-Disk Holders, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a'holder for mile ing machine record disks or other similar fiat articles.
it relates more particularly to e hos Within which the phonograph record disks can be held in such a manner that there is no liability to fracture or other injury, In holders for this purpose it is dcsi'ahle to keep the records in such a position that they are readily accessible and can be suitably indexed so that any desired selection can readily be found, and also to have the records so held that they will not be liabl io'tnre hycoming in contactxvitheach ot These and other obj ets ere obtain. m invention, which will. he more rlez ii nderstood by reference to the aecoinpnn drawings, in which,
is e View of my 1111-- pr'ovod hold :0. 2 is a seotionalview iakeu on line 2;2 oi? 1, looking in direction of the arrows. Fig. 3 z tionel View taken on line 3---3 of F looking in the direction of the arrows.
-11 is a detail view of a portion of on the sheets of paper which are placed between the disks.
As shown in the drawings, my invention eomprises rectangular hoxshaped holder 5 la'ving a hinged opening or door 6 end thereof, which door has an extent Y which in closed position is adapted to extend along port of one side of the box and to in-- iQZlOGli" with the same. A hook S or other suitable fastening device is employed to loelr the cover in closed position, as will be readily understood. Located inside of the box and extending transversely and across the bottom thereof, as clearly shown in 9 and 3, there is a triangular stop 9, and also a second stop 10 which is usually slightly lower than the first stop. The use of these stops Will hereinafter be more parioularly pointed out. Suitable sheets of paper 12 or other similar material out to so proximate the interior of the sides of the K, and alsoindexed in the manner clearly 1 over, pre'vl-iuls ll SllOWIl in Fig. 1, are inserted within the box.

'rnl; record .slr holder, in which the libnb are held in se arale compartments, and from which they can he readily with (.lran'u and also provide a simple and eill clout indexing ans. By having the sheets Within the casing by means of paper .lortgd of the triangular stop, as shove described, wluoh would be l. overcome the ohji Without this sto r, as otherwise in empties lo grasp a: record one might 'l'wul tz' hold of the intervening sheet so withdraw this sheet from of paper and Lelween the: disks" The ocking means, hoW- llS. Li W132 by having the boa; or llOl 'Iltl' open one end, it is yossihle to stack 2:. plurality of boxes in a row and then, to oit disk desired, it is not nee l "Withdraw the individual holder Loni the row, but to merely pull the same forward a very short distance so tl'lattlie end cover can be opened, and then. the proper disk can be Withdrawn.
Whst I claim as my invention is:
.l. In a holes for talking machine record disks or the like, a rectangular-shaped box having on opening at one end thereof, a plurality of sheets of paper or the like Within said receptacle between which the disks are adapted to be held, and a stop for partially preventing the withdrawal of said disks.
2. In a holder "for talking machine record disks or the like, a rectangular-shaped box having an opening at one end thereof, a plurality of sheets of paper or the like within said receptacle between which the disks are adapted to be held, a stop for holding said sheets within the holder and for partially preventing the withdrawal of said disks.
In a. holder for talking machine record disks or the like, a rectangular-shaped box having an opening at one end thereof, a plurality of sheets of paper or the like Within said receptacle between which the disks are adapted to be held, a triangular-shaped projection extending along one side of said box and a corresponding indentation in said sheets to hold the same within the casing. 1-. In a holder for talking machine record disks or the like, a rectangular-shaped box having an opening at one end thereof, a plurality of sheets of paper or-the like Within said receptacle between which the disks are adapted to be held, a stop to prevent said disks from passing back too-far within said holder, and a second stop to partially prevent the Withdrawal of said disks.
-5. In a holder for record disks or the like, a box having a covertor one end thereof, said cover having an extension which in closed position extends over part of one side of said box, and interlocks with said side, a plurality of sheets oi? paper or the like within said box, between which the record disks are adapted to be held, said sheets having suitable indexes, and a pair of stops in said box to prevent said disks from entering too far within said receptacle and also to.
prevent the accidental removal of said disks. Signed by me at Chicago, Illinois, this 11th day of March, 1911.
