Abstract

FIELD: abrasive finishing. SUBSTANCE: method for polishing consists in working a part moved in magnetic field whose lines of same magnetic intensity are oriented equidistant relative to work surface due to shape, positioning of pole pieces and magnetic flux in them. Magnetic field forms pole unit from magnetic fluid passed through magnetic field. Located on surface of pole unit is abrasive-containing layer uniformly contacting the full surface of polished work surface. Motion of magnetic fluid and work rotation relative to its axis provide for necessary polishing. To increase quality of polishing, magnetic intensity and its gradient are reduced in the course of polishing according to exponent. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 6 dwg
