Claims (12)
- 반사형 디스플레이 픽셀로서,
나란히 배치된 적어도 세 개의 서브 픽셀(sub-pixel)을 포함하되,
상기 서브 픽셀의 각각은 세 개의 원색(primary color) 중 하나에 대응하며,
상기 서브 픽셀의 각각은
투과도가 조정가능한 광 셔터와,
상기 광 셔터 아래에 배치되며, 대응하는 원색의 광을 방출하는 발광(luminescent) 재료를 포함하는 발광층과,
상기 발광층의 아래에 배치되어 제각기의 원색에 대응하는 광을 반사시키는 파장 선택 미러
를 포함하고,
상기 파장 선택 미러는 광대역 미러 상의 흡수 염료로 형성되거나 또는 상기 파장 선택 미러는 광학 산란체의 층으로 형성되며,
백색 광을 반사시키는 파장 선택 미러 대신에 광대역 미러 및 광 셔터를 포함하는 백색 서브 픽셀을 더 포함하되, 상기 백색 서브 픽셀은 상기 광대역 미러와 상기 광 셔터 사이의 발광 재료층 대신에 투명 재료의 중간층을 포함하는
반사형 디스플레이 픽셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 세 개의 원색은 적색, 청색, 및 녹색을 포함하는
반사형 디스플레이 픽셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 각각의 서브 픽셀의 미러는 상기 서브 픽셀의 제각기의 발광 재료의 방출 파장과 흡수 에지 파장 사이의 대역을 포함하는 선택된 반사 범위를 갖는
반사형 디스플레이 픽셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
각각의 셔터는 이색성 게스트 액정 호스트 시스템(dichroic guest-liquid crystal host system) 및 면내 전기영동 시스템(in-plane electrophoretic system)의 그룹으로부터 선택되는
반사형 디스플레이 픽셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
각각의 발광 재료는 반도체 나노결정(semiconducting nanocrystals)을 포함하는
반사형 디스플레이 픽셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
각각의 발광 재료는, 제각기의 원색의 광을 방출하기 위해, 광을 흡수하고 에너지를 상기 발광 재료로 전달하는 감광제(sensitizer) 재료를 포함하는
반사형 디스플레이 픽셀.
- 반사형 디스플레이 디바이스로서,
복수의 픽셀을 포함하되,
각각의 픽셀은 나란히 배치된 적어도 세 개의 서브 픽셀을 갖고, 상기 서브 픽셀의 각각은 세 개의 원색 중 하나에 대응하며,
상기 서브 픽셀의 각각은
투과도가 조정가능한 광 셔터와,
상기 광 셔터의 아래에 배치되고, 상기 대응하는 원색의 광을 방출하는 발광 재료를 포함하는 발광층과,
상기 발광층의 아래에 배치되어 제각기의 원색에 대응하는 광을 반사시키는 파장 선택 미러
를 포함하고,
상기 파장 선택 미러는 광대역 미러 상의 흡수 염료로 형성되거나 또는 상기 파장 선택 미러는 광학 산란체의 층으로 형성되며,
각각의 픽셀은 백색 광을 반사시키는 파장 선택 미러 대신에 광대역 미러 및 광 셔터를 포함하는 백색 서브 픽셀을 더 포함하되, 상기 백색 서브 픽셀은 상기 광대역 미러와 상기 광 셔터 사이의 발광 재료의 층 대신에 투명 재료의 중간층을 포함하는
반사형 디스플레이 디바이스.
