종래 PVC 세트지 또는 플라스틱 표면, 가공목재의 표면 등에 원하는 무뉘를 넣기 위해 상기 무뉘가 인쇄된 전사 필름지를 열과 압을 가하여 전사하는데, 이러한 종래의 일반 전사필름은 전사지 표면에 광택이 없어 처리된 표면의 깨끗한 질감을 주지 못할 뿐 아니라, 더욱이 이러한 종래의 일반 전사필름은 전사된 표면이 강하지 않아서 메틸 에틸 케톤, 에틸 아세테이트 등의 각종 용재로 4-5회만 닦아도 인쇄된 무늬가 지워질 뿐 아니라, 조그마한 긁힘에도 쉽게 스크래치가 발생하여, 건축자재용 등의 단단한 표면을 요하는 곳 뿐아니라, 가구 등과 같이 일회성이 아닌 어느 정도 장시간 사용되는 물건에는 사용하기에 부적합하다는 단점이 있다. 즉 종래의 일반 전사지는 PET필름 내면에 이형층 - 인쇄층 - 통상의 접착제층의 구조로 되어 있으며 이 전사지를 피전사체에 열과 압을 가하여 전사시킨 다음 PET 필름을 탈거하여 인쇄층을 전사하기 때문에 이형층만이 인쇄층의 보호층으로 작용하였다. 따라서, 유기용재에 쉽게 인쇄층이 지워지고 내광성이 열등하여 인쇄칼라가 쉽게 변색될 뿐 아니라, 스크래치성도 약하여 건축자재용 등 고가제품에 광범위하게 사용되지 못하고 사람의 손이 닿지 않는 곳 등에 극히 제한적으로 만 사용되는 단점이 있다.In order to insert a desired mud, such as a conventional PVC set or plastic surface, or a surface of a processed wood, the mud printed transfer film is transferred by applying heat and pressure.
