Claims (15)
- 전자 디바이스 또는 웨어러블 디바이스의 곡률을 제한하기 위한 장치로서,
종방향 및 횡방향 둘 모두에서 일정 크기를 갖는 가요성 제1 필름;
제1 필름과 적어도 부분적으로 인터페이싱되고(interfacing) 종방향 및 횡방향 둘 모두에서 일정 크기를 갖는 제2 필름;
제1 필름과 제2 필름 사이에 배치되는 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부(curvature arresting feature) - 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부는 횡방향 및 종방향 둘 모두에서 일정 크기를 갖고 제1 필름의 표면으로부터 연장되고, 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부 중 적어도 일부는 제1 필름이 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나 또는 둘 모두로 인가된 굽힘력(bending force)을 받지 않거나 사전결정된 크기 미만의 인가된 굽힘력을 받을 때 간극(gap)에 의해 서로 이격되고, 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부 중 적어도 일부의 인접한 곡률 구속 특징부들은 인가된 굽힘력이 사전결정된 크기 이상일 때 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나 또는 둘 모두로의 제1 필름의 곡률을 구속하도록 서로 접촉함 -;
제1 필름에 부착되거나 제1 필름과 일체형이고, 제1 필름으로부터 제1 필름의 표면에 수직한 방향으로 돌출된 제1 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스(interlocking device); 및
제2 필름에 부착되거나 제2 필름과 일체형이고, 제2 필름으로부터 제2 필름의 표면에 수직한 방향으로 돌출된 제2 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스를 포함하고,
제1 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스는 제2 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스와 맞물리도록 구성되고, 제1 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스가 제2 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스와 맞물릴 때, 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나의 방향으로의 제2 필름으로부터의 제1 필름의 이동이 방지되는 한편, 횡방향 및 종방향 중 다른 방향으로의 제2 필름에 대한 제1 필름의 이동은 가능하며,
제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부는 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나의 방향으로의 원하는 곡률도(degree of curvature)에서 제1 강직성(stiffness)을 장치에 제공하도록 구성되는 한편, 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부 및 제1 및 제2 상호로킹 디바이스들 중 적어도 하나는 횡방향 및 종방향 중 다른 방향으로의 동일한 원하는 곡률도에서 제2 강직성을 장치에 제공하도록 구성되고, 제1 강직성은 제2 강직성과 상이한, 곡률 제한 장치. - 제1항에 있어서, 제1 및 제2 상호로킹 디바이스는 레일(rail), 채널(channel), 캡(cap) 및 스템(stem) 중 하나 이상을 포함하는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부는 기하학적 패턴으로 배열되는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 간극은 0.050 mm 내지 10 mm(0.050 mm 및 10 mm 포함)를 포함하는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 간극은 0.1 내지 10(0.1 및 10 포함)인 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부 중 하나의 폭에 대한 간극의 폭의 제1 비를 갖고, 간극은 0.1 내지 1(0.1 및 1 포함)인 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부의 두께에 대한 간극의 두께의 제2 비를 갖는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제1 필름의 표면에 수직한 방향으로의 제2 필름으로부터의 제1 필름의 분리는 제2 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스와의 제1 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스의 맞물림에 의해 방지되는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제2 복수의 상호로킹 디바이스 중 적어도 일부의 인접한 상호로킹 디바이스들은 제2 필름이 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나 또는 둘 모두로 인가된 굽힘력을 받지 않거나 사전결정된 크기 미만의 인가된 굽힘력을 받을 때 서로 간에 제2 간극을 갖고, 제2 복수의 상호로킹 특징부 중 적어도 일부의 인접한 상호로킹 특징부들은 인가된 굽힘력이 사전결정된 크기 이상일 때 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나 또는 둘 모두로의 제2 필름의 곡률을 구속하도록 서로 접촉하는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제2 필름에 부착되거나 제2 필름과 통합되는 제2 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부를 추가로 포함하고, 제2 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부는 횡방향 및 종방향 둘 모두에서 일정 크기를 갖고, 제2 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부 중 적어도 일부의 인접한 곡률 구속 특징부들은 제2 필름이 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나 또는 둘 모두로 인가된 굽힘력을 받지 않거나 사전결정된 크기 미만의 인가된 굽힘력을 받을 때 서로 간에 제2 간극을 갖고, 제2 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부 중 적어도 일부의 인접한 곡률 구속 특징부들은 인가된 굽힘력이 사전결정된 크기 이상일 때 횡방향 및 종방향 중 하나 또는 둘 모두로의 제1 필름의 곡률을 구속하도록 서로 그리고/또는 제1 복수의 곡률 구속 특징부와 접촉하는, 곡률 제한 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제1 필름과 제2 필름 사이에 배치되는 광학 커플러(optical coupler)를 추가로 포함하고, 광학 커플러는 액체, 접착제, 겔(gel), 또는 이들의 조합인, 곡률 제한 장치.
