- 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 반복 단위, 또는 하기 화학식 2로 표시되는 반복 단위를 포함한 중합체; 및
하기 화학식 5로 표시되는 폴리카보디이미드 화합물을 포함하는, 액정 배향제 조성물:

상기 화학식 1 내지 2에서,
R1 및 R2 중 적어도 하나는 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기이고, 나머지는 수소이며,
X1 및 X2는 각각 독립적으로 하기 화학식3으로 표시되는 4가의 유기기이며,
[화학식3]
상기 화학식 3에서,
R3 내지 R8은 각각 독립적으로 수소 또는 탄소수 1 내지 6의 알킬기이고,
L1는 단일결합, -O-, -CO-, -COO-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -CR9R10-, -(CH2)Z-, -O(CH2)ZO-, -COO(CH2)ZOCO-, -CONH-, 페닐렌 또는 이들의 조합으로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 어느 하나이며,
상기에서 R9 및 R10는 각각 독립적으로 수소, 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기 또는 플루오로알킬기이고,
Z는 1 내지 10의 정수이며,
Y1 및 Y2는 각각 독립적으로 하기 화학식 4로 표시되는 2가의 유기기이고,

Q1 내지 Q4 중 적어도 하나는 질소이고, 나머지는 탄소이며,
R3는 수소 또는 탄소수 1 내지 6의 알킬기이고,

상기 화학식 5에서,
A는 하기 화학식 21로 표시되는 작용기, 또는 하기 화학식 22로 표시되는 작용기이며,
b는 1 내지 10의 정수이며,
R11은 탄소수 1 내지 20의 알킬렌기 또는 탄소수 6 내지 20의 아릴렌기이고,
m은 1 내지 5의 정수이고,
D는 하기 화학식 6으로 표시되는 작용기이고,

상기 화학식6에서,
T는 -O- 또는 -NH-이고,
R12는 수소, 할로겐, 탄소수 1 내지 6의 알킬기, 탄소수 6 내지 20의 아릴기 또는 에테르기이고,
R13은 수소 또는 탄소수 1 내지 6의 알킬기이고,

상기 화학식21에서, R'는 2가의 유기 작용기이고, G1은 상기 화학식6으로 표시되는 작용기이고,

상기 화학식22에서, R”는 3가의 유기 작용기이고, G2 및 G3은 각각 독립적으로 상기 화학식6으로 표시되는 작용기이다.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 화학식 6으로 표시되는 작용기에서,
T는 -NH-이고, R12는 수소, 할로겐, 탄소수 1 내지 6의 알킬기, 탄소수 6 내지 20의 아릴기 이고,
R13은 수소인, 액정 배향제 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 화학식 5로 표시되는 폴리카보디이미드 화합물은,
상기 액정 배향제 조성물 전체 중량을 기준으로 0.5 중량% 내지 15 중량%로 함유되는, 액정 배향제 조성물.

- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 화학식4의 Q1 내지 Q4 에서,
Q2 및 Q4 중 하나가 질소이고, 나머지는 탄소이며,
Q1, 및 Q3은 탄소인, 액정 배향제 조성물.

상기 화학식4의 Q1 내지 Q4 에서,
Q2 가 질소이고,
Q1, Q3 및 Q4은 탄소인, 액정 배향제 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 화학식4에서, R3은 수소인, 액정 배향제 조성물.
- 제1항 내지 제4항, 또는 제7항 내지 제10항 중 어느 한 항의 액정 배향제 조성물을 기판에 도포하여 도막을 형성하는 단계;
상기 도막을 건조하는 단계;
상기 건조 단계 직후의 도막에 광을 조사하거나 러빙 처리하여 배향 처리하는 단계; 및
상기 배향 처리된 도막을 열처리하여 경화하는 단계를 포함하는, 액정 배향막의 제조 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,
상기 액정 배향제 조성물은, 유기 용매에 용해 또는 분산시킨 것인, 액정 배향막의 제조 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,
상기 도막을 건조하는 단계는 50 ℃ 내지 150 ℃에서 수행되는, 액정 배향막의 제조 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,
상기 배향 처리하는 단계에서 광 조사는 150 nm 내지 450 nm 파장의 편광된 자외선을 조사하는, 액정 배향막의 제조 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,
상기 도막을 경화하는 단계에서 열처리 온도는 150 ℃ 내지 300 ℃인, 액정 배향막의 제조 방법.
- 제11항의 액정 배향막의 제조 방법에 따라 제조된, 액정 배향막.
- 제16항의 액정 배향막을 포함하는 액정 표시소자.
