Claims (7)
- 基体と、該基体の上に位置する被覆層とを備えた切削インサートであって、
前記被覆層は、
基体の上に位置して、チタン化合物を含有する第1層と、
該第1層の上に位置して、アルミナを含有する第2層と、
該第2層の上に位置して、チタン化合物を含有する第3層と、
を有し、
前記被覆層は、該被覆層の表面から前記基体に向かって延びたクラックが存在し、
該クラックは、
少なくとも前記3層と前記第2層に存在し、
前記被覆層の表面に直交する断面において、
前記第3層のクラックの幅は1μm以上であり、
前記第2層の上面におけるクラックの幅は、前記第3層のクラックの幅よりも狭く、0.5μm以上であり、
前記第2層の上面よりも前記基体に近い位置に、クラックの幅が0.2μm以下の部分を有している、切削インサート。 - 前記断面において、前記クラックのうち前記第2層に位置する部分は、前記上面の側に位置して、前記上面から離れるにしたがって幅が狭くなる第1領域と、該第1領域よりも前記第1層の側に位置して、幅が一定である第2領域とを有している、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記断面において、前記第1領域よりも前記第2領域における前記被覆層の表面に直交する方向の長さが長い、請求項2に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記クラックは、前記被覆層の表面から少なくとも前記第1層にかけて延びており、
前記断面において、前記第1層における前記クラックの幅は、一定であって、かつ、前記第2領域における前記クラックの幅と同じである、請求項2又は3に記載の切削インサート。 - 前記クラックは、前記被覆層の表面から前記基体にかけて延びている、請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載の切削インサート。
- 前記断面において、前記上面は、前記第3層に覆われていない露出部分を有し、該露出部分の幅は、前記第2層の上面におけるクラックの幅よりも大きい、請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の切削インサート。
- 前記露出部分の幅は、前記第3層の厚みよりも大きい、請求項6に記載の切削インサート。
