図1〜図4は本発明の第1実施形態によるブローダウン圧力波過給のエンジンを説明するための図であり、図1は全体構成図、図2はバルブタイミング図、図3はバルブタイミングとブローダウンガス圧力及びシリンダ内圧力との特性図、図4はPV線図である。
Claims (14)
- 気筒内に新気及びEGRガスを導入するようにしたエンジンにおいて、
膨張行程の一部における燃焼室内圧力を利用して少なくとも圧縮行程初期においてEGRガスを気筒内に導入し、もって該気筒の圧縮行程初期における燃焼室圧力を吸気ポートの圧力より高くすることを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項1において、吸気行程で吸気弁を下死点まで開弁して吸気を吸入し、
膨張行程の後半部における燃焼室内圧力を利用して圧縮行程初期又は前半部にEGRガスを気筒内に導入することを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項1又は2において、燃焼タイミングの異なる複数の気筒を備え、第1の気筒のブローダウンガスによる圧力波が、第2の気筒にかつ該第2の気筒の少なくとも圧縮行程初期において導入されることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項3において、上記第1の気筒のブローダウンガスによる圧力波が、上記第2の気筒の排気ポートにかつ該第2の気筒の圧縮行程初期又は前半部に導入されるよう上記第1の気筒の排気タイミングと該第1の気筒から上記第2の気筒までの排気管長が設定され、該第2の気筒の排気弁が該第2の気筒の少なくとも圧縮行程初期において開弁されることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項1又は2において、上記気筒には吸気弁及びEGR弁が備えられており、該EGR弁の開口部は蓄圧部に接続され、該蓄圧部には上記EGR弁が該気筒の膨張行程の一部において開かれることにより上記ブローダウンガスの圧力が蓄えられ、上記気筒のEGR弁が該気筒の少なくとも圧縮行程初期において開かれることにより上記蓄圧部内に蓄えられたブローダウンガスの圧力が該気筒内に導入されることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項5において、燃焼タイミングの異なる複数の気筒を備え、該各気筒は吸気弁,排気弁及びEGR弁を備え、該各気筒のEGR弁の開口部は共通の蓄圧部に接続されていることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項2において、該エンジンは、ロータハウジング内にロータが配設され、該ロータハウジングの内周面に沿うようにロータが回転するロータリエンジンであり、上記ロータハウジングの一部に、膨張行程と圧縮行程にある隣あった燃焼室を連通させる連通路が形成されていることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項1又は2において、上記気筒には吸気弁と2つの排気弁とが備えられ、第1の排気弁の開口部には蓄圧部が、第2の排気弁の開口部には排気通路がそれぞれ接続されており、中負荷運転時においては、上記第1の排気弁が膨張行程の一部において開かれることにより該気筒のブローダウンガスの圧力が上記蓄圧部に蓄積され、排気行程で上記第1の排気弁が閉じられるとともに第2の排気弁が開かれることにより排気がなされ、吸気行程で上記吸気弁が開くとともに少なくとも圧縮行程初期において上記第1の排気弁が開くことにより上記蓄圧部に蓄えられたブローダウンガスの圧力が該気筒内に導入されることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項8において、低負荷運転域においては、上記蓄圧部を排気系下流に開放するとともに、上記吸気弁が吸気行程の中程で閉じられ、かつ上記第1の排気弁が吸気行程の前半部から圧縮行程の初期にかけて開かれることにより大量のEGRガスが気筒内に再吸入され、排気行程では上記第2の排気弁が開かれることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項8又は9において、高負荷運転域においては、上記蓄圧部を排気系下流に開放するとともに、上記吸気弁が吸気行程上死点付近から圧縮行程前半部にかけて開かれ、上記第1,第2の排気弁が膨張行程後半部から排気行程上死点付近まで開かれることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項8ないし10の何れかにおいて、上記第1,第2の排気弁の開口部に接続された第1,第2の排気系を有し、該第1の排気系により上記蓄圧部が構成され、上記第2の排気系に触媒が配設されており、暖機運転時には、上記吸気弁が吸気行程で開かれ、上記第1の排気弁は閉状態に固定され、第2の排気弁は排気行程で開かれることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項4 において、点火時期がクランク角度で360度の位相差を有する第1の気筒と第2の気筒とを備え、該第1,第2の気筒の排気弁は、排気行程において開弁されるとともに、圧縮行程の初期においても所定角度だけ開弁されるよう構成されており、該第1,第2の気筒の排気ポート同士は、一方の気筒の膨張行程終期における排気弁の開により発生したブローダウンガスによる圧力波が、他方の気筒の排気ポートに、かつ該他方の気筒の圧縮行程における排気弁の開時に到達するよう設定された排気通路により接続されていることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項12において、上記排気通路は点火時期がクランク角度で360度の位相差を有する2つの気筒によって構成される複数の気筒群毎に独立して設けられていることを特徴とするエンジン。
- 請求項12又は13において、低負荷運転域においては、上記他方の気筒の吸気弁が吸気行程の中程で閉じられるとともに、該他方の気筒の排気弁が吸気行程の後半部から圧縮行程の初期にかけて開かれることにより大量のEGRガスが該他方の気筒内に再吸入されることを特徴とするエンジン。
